I'm a private person and I would hope that my partner would know me well enough not to do something like this. Seems to me a lot of these guys proposed much too quickly. There are usually signs if/when a woman is ready to be proposed to. That can make all the difference in avoiding a mutually humiliating and hurtful situation like this. I also can't help wondering about the times where the woman said yes to avoid both of their embarrassment only to take it back in private. You just *know* that's happened.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for any of these guys in these videos. Public proposals have always seemed really shady and coercive to me, like the public aspect is meant to put her on the spot and pressure her into a yes. And as others have said, you really ought to be 110% sure to propose at all. At least have casually talked about getting married before.

Exactly! Its so very shady. Especially if you're not sure if she'll say yes. You're villainizing the girl in front of the public for not being ready if she says no. Everyone feels sorry for the poor guy. But think of the girl being booed and people screaming "Ah why not? He's a such a sweet guy." Ugh. It's hurtful.

Yeah. I admit I used to be like “omg girl how could you say no” (listen I watched a lot of movies as a kid that gave me ideal love vibes). But realistically you can’t catch your partner by surprise when it comes to a proposal. You should have brought up the topic of marriage

As an introvert, the idea of getting proposed to in public terrifies me. This video gave me anxiety just watching it. I’m definitely gonna make sure my future husband knows to do a private proposal. Honestly, I feel like a public proposal takes away from the moment. It’s not as intimate as if it were more private.
