The ending just proves how strong Ultra M/ horror Mario is, being able to kill boyfriend and killing girlfriend just like MX did. Boyfriend was able to beat all sorts of other opponents, even ones Horror Mario mentioned. BF was able to escape people like Hypno and even Sonic.exe, but all the times BF was able to escape was because of GF. And as Horror Mario says, Gf's powers are useless here, as the nes cartridge is his world. With GF both not being able to use her powers and being dead, BF is fucked.

It is inevitable that they canonically die in the mod, ever since the moment reveals that GF's powers doesn't work in M's world, which is the reason why Gf and Bf always survives from previous mods, but not this one
