Some people think that strength is only a "physical" thing, but Wan'er has a great INNER strength that is often more important or better than being able to fight well, or saying sassy things. Thank Heaven she doesn't always sound like a little baby or a spoilt ditz, like Chinese female leads often do. Wan'er is kind, gentle, and level headed. She also thinks for herself. She won't always just take someone's/Xiao Fan's word immediately, if she feels something is off. She will analyze it and question him. Haha. Wan'er grew up alone in the palace, along with all the crap there. She was sick and honestly, didn't know if she would even have a future. A "weaker" person could have easily given up or lost all hope, but she retained her mischievousness, sweetness, curiosity, as well as patience to her character. Having a sickness or physical "weakness", can help a person develop compassion for others and strength mentally and emotionally sometimes. I love when Wan'er and Xiao Fan are together. They usually really support, comfort and soothe each other. They also influence the other to open their perspective & to see some things differently sometimes. They are sweet, cute and funny as well. Wan'er also showed that she is very strong with how she handled her mother and she obviously knows right from wrong. Anyway, sorry for the rant. I am just so sick of people putting them as a couple and especially Wan'er down.

In novel yeah but most of drama adaptation will delete the harem. Like kill the heroines, ship them with others, some old drama turn them into nuns. Probably due to some censorship restrictions. Anyway unless there have an miracle don't expect much. Maybe in the first season he will get along with them and they will all survive (since there don't have many episodes left) but in the second season.. be ready.
