OK..... the SECRET is to bounce to the side with a slight tug on your throw hand, NOT up and down. It's a subtle movement that Joe doesn't specify. But that's the secret to getting consistent hops. In summary, pull your throwhand slightly to the right.

I go through pretty much every video I can find on a specific trick when I'm trying to learn it just because there's always something that someone might say that you might not have said or yo-yo trick might not have said that might help me land the trick, but all in all I'd say two are the best two sources.

Yo!!!! Not sure if you read my comment or not but learned this one too!! The throwhand/non throw hand helps a ton as lefty cause i usually run the video on a loop and listen while i practice. And sometimes i would hear "throw it over the left" when for me it would be right and get confused. So super awesome!

First of all, thanks for making these videos, they are great. I have a question, anyone that knows this trick is welcome to answer. I'm still working things out, but when I get into this mount is it normal for the string to want to catch if I don't bounce it really quick? The yoyo either wants to bind or it slows down real quick. I can get a few jumps in but I have to do it super quick before I get into the green triangle.

Yes, I had the same problem. What fixed it for me was when I realised I wasn't pinching the string with my left hand. He talks about it at 1:22
