@Glen.Black.3 жыл бұрын
She doesn't really get nervous like you'd expect. She said she was only nervous once, I think it was for the live appearance on the Ellen show. She has grown up around local professional musicians, so she has basically been around adults all her life. Played on stage since age 4, hundreds of live gigs. Hence, why she always looks so comfortable and at ease. I have never seen any adult musicians treat her like a "kid". They treat her with the utmost respect, maybe even more so, because they know she is going to be a world phenom soon, and they want to say, "I played with Yoyoka once!".

Hey STB, I found you because I look for Yoyoka reactions. I just hooked up a vintage Sansui amp with 4 vintage Paradigm speakers to my roku tv in my workshop. Yes this girl is something else. Speed and timing are brilliant. Her strength is scary now and to think she is still a pre teen,it will be astounding to see the power and finesse she will eventually have by 18. Japan has some of the best female artists in the world. Look at the best jazz specialist drummer in the world in Senri Kawaguchi. Then there's the 18 year old Kanade Sato. Has real touch without the power of Yoyoka. Then there's guitarists like Lisa X at 15 who is 1 of the world's best shredders. The country has the best all female bands in the world with so many talented millennials. Check out Band Maid and Lovebites for outstanding talent and musicians who play with such ease. Both bands have multi instrumentalists. Something that Japan encourages so much in their music art program. The rest of the world has a lot to learn from this great country.

I have noticed a lot of Japanese musicians read music, and that there is a huge jazz and blues following both in Japan and South Korea. I think that both cultures take their chosen professions very seriously, and as you mentioned, support and take "the arts" as seriously as the musicians and other artists do. In my humble view, art is what separates humans from other animals.

I guess I'm really a rabid Yoyoka fan after all, heh. Nevertheless, I see your video as a very respectful and thoughtful reaction-review of our beloved Yoyoka. My bliss is: watching great reactions. Good job sir. Yoyoka is something else. The only one that was further in development at around that age imho was Tony Royster Jr as far as I have seen drummers at that age. The big Japanese three from this You Tube era are Yoyoka, Senri Kawaguchi and Kanade Sato. Senri is the oldest and ahead in development, but the other two will certainly catch up. Yoyoka for example is learning also guitar, bass & keyboards. Another young drummer who develops that skills is Nandi Bushell. Of course I have to mention Pau Villareal from The Warning too. Not only a great singer, drummer and paino player, she and her sisters are also already great composers with two great albums XXI century blood and the concept-album Queen of the murder scene from 2018 (they were aged 18,16 & 13 years old). Songs like Survive, Dust to Dust, Black Holes, Dull Knives, Crimson Queen, Narcisista and many others stick in your memory. I recommend you to do a reaction. To help you I sent you the link of survive of 2017 [you've been warned ☺]: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2eVhImsgdxsfKs. I really hope that Yoyoka will develop her skills to be a great songwriter. Certainly we live in testing times concerning the pandemic and the coming monetary desaster(s), but from a music perspective the possiblity for young (female) musicians to show their skills is fantastic. The great thing is also that it is all over the world you see them coming from and age barriers or whatever are taken away like the great Dave Grohl did with his battle with Nandi Bushell. Talking about talent. Dave's oldest daughter Violet is 15 years old. She already sang background vocals on the last Foo Fighters album and last week she sang the cover Nausea from X, with her dad and some very interesting other band members. Some other female driven bands that I also would like to mention are: Starcrawler with Arrow (the mix between Fee Waybll, Iggy and all the best punk-rock can give you) and Summer Cannibals with founder singer Jessica Boudreax who is currenly recovering from breast cancer that was discovered last year at the age of 29 (terrible so young). Jessica is a fighter and the prognoses looks good is the latest information. Often people say rock is dead. Well these two bands also prove the opposite. Young, energetic and badass to say the least. Again thank you very much and apologies for giving you extra work☺.

I enjoyed that man, I never thought I'd watch an hour-long reaction before, but then again I never thought I would see a drumming master in a kid her age (Yoyoka will turn twelve on October 2021). I don't know if you're into jazz at all, but there's a South Korean kid the same age called Kwak Dakyung (they put their surname first) who is looking very much like a trumpet master. Her dad is the bassist in their jazz band, but he also switches and does sax solos while the keys man takes over the bass line... but frankly, the kid is the star, every bit as good on trumpet as Yoyoka is on drums. On one of her songs I had flashbacks of Chet baker.
