For a small budgeted drama, it outshone many of it's contemporaries in story, cast and crew. The actors are not known to me, but their performances were stellar. The complexities each brought to the drama made this one of my top ten favorites. I must say, the leading male actors made this drama. If they had only been made to love each other as brothers and form an alliance, their country would have benefited greatly. Pitting them against each other only brought death and ruin; it's a pity the Empress drove her son to his death by her own greed. The most heartbreaking moment was his betrayal of his wife, who loved, trusted and adored him until he betrayed her. Walking away from her and hearing her terrified screams while she was being raped by that animal was the last straw for me. He deserved ruin after that. I really loved all the intrigue and suspense, but was grateful in the end that our two love birdies survived all the assaults. I will watch this again.

We think his wife is someone good but she also knew all the bad things they were doing and she always supported it. So I don't think she was innocent. Even that queen was acting innocent at the end but when ML mom and brother died she did not think twice . That queen and chen should get lifetime imprisonment.

I loved it so much 😭😭😭 I wish it wasn't over. I am definitely going to follow these actors in the future. I love that her voice is used and not some awful dubbing to make her sound like a child. I really believe that made this mini drama so much better. The ML is amazing, his range of emotions is impeccable 👌 he made this drama so fun and heart breaking to watch. Chen turning completely into a villain was unexpected, not that he was bad but that he gave up everything and everyone in his mad dash to the throne. His love for his wife was something that I admired, when he abandoned that it broke my heart. I felt so bad for xuan, she had no idea a simple outing with the man she loved would end any love and life she had. I'm glad that he let his other brother live and be free. He was bad but he wasn't completely evil like Chen. It was also a gift for him, I think he was ready to be away from the imperial family. As for his "mother", it seemed like he couldn't kill her but also couldn't free her. Allowing her to die meant her release but she still needed to be punished for her crime. Forcing her to live was both a punishment for her and a way for our ML to also recognize that she raised him for 20 years. The emperor... poor guy was an idiot. seriously, he made so many mistakes and it led to his death and the ruin of most of his children.

Loved it. I see quite a few comments stating low budget. My disagreement is l think the settings, costumes, and entire atmosphere were all more than appropriate for the story line. Actors may not have been well known or easily recognizable but all did an excellent job, especially the lead actors. To pull off an act of being slow, dumb and weak to being strong, thoughtful, a true leader, and more. Excellent job. Strong, strong, smart female, wow. Congrats to every actor, the director, all cast, well done. I will watch again.

An anti-climactic but happy ending. I loved both Leading Actors. I thought they had great chemistry. They were so playful with each other. Very sweet and loving. I also loved the Leading Lady's voice. It was very strong, domineering, and sensual. Not like the typical baby doll voices that some actresses use. The Leading Man was such a good crier. He had very expressive eyes and was handsome. His acting was top notch and I'll look forward to seeing his other works. I wish, for the ending, they had shown an aged king and queen with their happy children around them. That would have been the icing on the cake. Overall I really liked this series and seeing it in just two full versions made it even better. 😍❤

What a great couple! They are such a good support for each other, and a true team! They really went through trials and tribulations! And it really shows being naughty will not get you anywhere except wounded, gone nuts or dead! And greedy people might clump together, but in the end they turn on each other! An excellent drama even if a little choppy in the editing. I loved the actress even her voice is pleasantly deep and a lovely strong character and the male lead I expect to develop as an actor, he does an excellent job of conveying subtle emotional changes. And the best thing about this drama was how short and sweet it was. They should take the cutter to most chinese dramas and would make them a lot better by taking out some of the fillers.

I love a storyline where the male and female leads are smart and able to compete with the bad guys. Love it. The FL and ML's emotionsal cry scenes are good. 王祖一Wang Zu Yi is the male lead. He sang one of the songs. I like his voice and find that he is suitable for singing ancient drama songs. His acting impresses me too. The actress is really brave, protective of her husband and so sweet. When the Prince lost her, I thought he did not even care that the gullible emperor father readily wanted to behead him. She left him and it seems he lost his soul. A very touching drama. Young actor and actress, really good 🥰

The saddest part about this is Helian Chen's full deterioration into evil. At the beginning of the drama, he is obviously evil, even callously killing our heroine, but his motivation is to save his consort. Throughout the drama, his one saving grace was the mutual care and concern between them. One can mark his deterioration as a human being through the way his actions towards his wife become increasingly callous and even destructive. In the end, his destruction of her in order to gain the throne becomes his stumbling block. What a pity. IMO his character was perhaps the most complex and intriguing, and it's obvious that if his mother had done things differently the two princes who she pitted against each other could have been a strong team empowering the empire to even greater heights.

His nature already calculative from long time ago. if not he didn't need to manipulate heroine's feeling before to do any task given by him, he could just killed her to get the heart. So it's the same with his own wife. His wife has value before and being blinded by love (like heroine's state before) so he saved her. Meanwhile now after he get 'betrayed' he is afraid that she isn't as foolish as before and her value keep decreasing in his eyes, after all her father already deep in his faction so his true nature surfaces in front of his wife

What still doesn't make sense to me is how the 3rd Prince went as far as to kill and cut out someone's heart to save his Consort but then give her up so easily. It doesn't follow the character development with the story.

Basically he did it all for the throne. In my opinion, he killed Qi to save his wife who is the Prime Minsters daughter. The prime Minister’s daughter would be more of an asset than Qi. Lastly, he gave up his wife to help put him on the throne. All in all he was selfish and loved no one truly.

배우들의 연기력, 빠른 전개..모두 좋았어요❤ 쓸데없는 오해 없이 서로의 마음을 잘 표현하는 스토리라인이 마음에 들어요😊 보통은..복수를 하는걸로 마무리하는데 주인공이 왕이 된후 형제를 용서하고 키워준 어머니를 찾아가 감사를 표하고 미운마음을 정리하는 장면이 인상깊었어요..ㅜㅜ❤ 웰메이드 드라마❤

5:10 am finally I m done watching 😁.. Really loved this drama watched both seasons in 1 day..The unique and the best part was the last 2 episodes. They show a long happy ending😁..In this FL and ML got a chance to talk, prince Chen and qin face off and more, really liked it. Good night 😂
