In 2018, at the age of 14, he became the first person ever to win 2 divisions at the same time. In 2019 he became the seven-time world champion of 3a while breaking the scoring system of 4a with one of the most iconic routines ever, showing why he is the genius of geniuses. In 2023, wyyc returned after 3 years of covid, he went back on stage and put out the most insane, breathtaking 3a routine of all time, literally reinvented the division. I don't care what people say, he is the greatest of all time.

most striking part of this freestyle to me is how he presents himself throughout the ENTIRE time he was on stage. some creepy apocalyptic vibes (especially with the song and color choice) with the limited movement directly before and after the freestyle but such orchestrated, large movement and perfect control throughout the actual freestyle. chills again just watching this again and realizing he was staring down the camera after he ended the fs. immediately after he gets off stage you can see him break out of the persona and get super hyped, on the livestream you could see him hug the MC as well. mu2 and showmanship masterclass by the greatest to ever do it.

Interesting. The vibe I got was more like he was sleepwalking/dreaming from being barefoot, the swaying, the baggy clothes, etc.

@@xsolarinteresting how we all perceive it differently. I’ve been forced to go to a lot of weird arty things and this is very similar to them, I don’t know how to explain it but kind of dark and creepy. A bit like a Rick Owens fashion show or something. This is much more interesting to watch than an avant garde dance thing though.

Maybe the best trick design and execution in the history of competitive yoyoing. The pacing, the delivery, the control, the composition, the scope and variety, the way everything works together as a unit, the understated and tense demeanor that serves to highlight the tricks, and even the outfit to match. It is simply incredible. It somehow all adds up to be even bigger than the sum of its parts. He’s a master of the craft in every sense of the word. It’s art that is bigger than yoyo.

I keep coming back to this recording because the musicality he demonstrates through his choreography is so satisfying He hits both significant beats and the less prominent ones too, all while keeping momentum and practiced polish. It’s incredible 🥹 Amazing job, well done 🙌

What a time to be alive. This world yoyo contest might be one of the best I have ever seen. We are getting Mir Kim and Hajime super difficult and clean performance (haven't watched other divisions yet but I'm sure they are great as well). They are still young so I am super hyped to see more of them in the future!

For real though. This was the most competitive 1a and 3a have ever been in recorded history, and the very last players who competed absolutely blew everyone and everything out of the water. Usually in 3a mistakes throw off flow and execution. He throws a mistake gets out of it and immediately transitions without a left hand bind into the next combo. The level of skill for that is incredible. The tricks are amazing but knowing how combos flow and missing big parts and how seem less he transitions is incredible to me.

Hajimes 3a routine in 2019 scored 89.5. The second place routine in 3a scored 89.3 this year. Its been 4 years and hajimes old routine still out perfoms the secone place routine this year. Its safe to say that hajime is atleast 4 years ahead of the competition although its probably more like centuries. (edit) just found out that hajimes 2018 4a freestyle scores higher than gun ju eoms winning 2023 freestyle. He is actually inhuman
@ConnorSeals
@ConnorSeals Жыл бұрын
It’s wild. Hajime will always be ahead of his time But comparing final scores from different contests is sorta pointless because the tech score (60% of final score) is relative to the other freestyles in that contest. With the same logic Hajime’s 2014 world routine (92.8) would’ve beaten Minato this year, which isn’t the case. Sorry I know I must be “fun at parties” but felt the need to point that out :P

I mean… yeah. The only thing I could think of is the soloham trick where you pirouette before they both hit the ground… which is something hajime does in his 4a routines🙃. Also soloham swordancer and the horizontal yo-yo+counterweight pinwheels that Jake Elliot does too. I still think hajime has them beat even if you compare jake’s, rei’s, and hajime’s trick repertoire. I mean, as far as competitive/conventional yo-yo style tricks I think hajime might have everyone on the planet beat.
