It is funny to realize that it is now 2015 and still listening today. Why? Even though it is meaningless because it is just a madeup words, it is not nonsense as you think. This old songs brings back childhood memories, nostalgia. 90's kid will surely appreciate it. I remember walking in Avenida and Isetan with my parent in christmass season, many stores are playing this when i was a lil kid.

He is a talented singer, and this is his no 1 hit. It is do hilarious and a lot of Filipinos laugh when they hear this. The Odd part is he is singing a language that he only understands! The sad part is we are laughing at something that we are clueless. Nonetheless it is so catchy that I would bet if justin bieber heard this, he will have peed in his pants.

the lyrics was inspired from the names of different business establishments in a Chinatown in Manila. then Yoyoy, combined it together and created a song from it.

RIP Yoyoy Villame, you bring us a very nice song that is enjoyable to remember you. Thanks a lot

I don't care what they say about the lyrics of this song. It still makes me proud being a Pinoy! And although I don't understand a single word here, I trust Yoyoy Villame's prudence and talent. He is one of a kind who brought pride to our country.

You don't have to be a Pinoy to enjoy this song - I once played it for a Westerner friend and she nearly rolled off her seat laughing so hard - it's the way Yoyoy sings and his enunciation that's so hilarious.

I'm Chinese and I can understand his message in this song. I think it's a message of peace. Most Filipinos don't really understand Chinese culture, and vice versa. It is only normal for us humans to be stereotypical racists. But in this song, I don't feel any hate or insult at all. If he really wanted to insult us, he would've written some tagalog or visayan songs with explicit lyrics demonizing the Chinese. I believe he has respect for my race and wrote this song as a salute/tribute to us.

@nathanmidori kongkong for kangkong perhaps---- i also come from Bohol like Yoyoy. when i was a child at the time when Yoyoy was still driving the public transport bus called MB Liner in Bohol, there was this popular bakery in Tagbilaran City that delivered fresh bread in the neighboring towns, and the bakeshop was called Tong Nam... perhaps, it is the "Tong Nang" word he used there.

I couldn't even remember the first time I heard this song, probably mid 70's. Around that time Ramon Zamora was making movies with the Chinese. Maybe the words have some Chinese meaning. Who knows for sure, but regardless this song brought so much fun and enjoyment to the poor boys like myself of that generation.

@dapithapon Actually, during a TV interview at the launching of this single way back in the 80s, Yoyoy said the lyrics for Butsekik are gibberish he just made up, he just got the idea for the song after walking around Binondo and reading the various store signs of different business establishments in Chinatown. Just imagine walking thru Ongpin and reading aloud the various store signs you see in time with this music and you basically get the idea.
