I feel so fortunate to have lived in Belgium and to visit Ypres as I am from New Zealand and this was a town where we lost a lot of our boys. When I visited it was on ANZAC day. I was befuddled that the townspeople were so nice to us. That we had helped? I give them more credit than anything else. They were amazing. And I'm so fortunate to have even been a part of an acknowledgement.

My nephew lived in Iper, his wife still does, you can hear the last post at the gates from their garden. he died from cancer but once while he was fairly well we climbed the Cloth hall tower, the view is amazing. it took ages but he was determined to get up there.

Ypres is one of the most beautiful city in Flanders. Is great that they managed to reconstruct these beautiful medieval buildings.

Yes, especially the St. Martin's Cathedral and the Cloth Hall :)

We have visited many times and always find something new. Also Chez Marie has now moved from near the Cloth Hall and now close to the Menin Gate.

Also the Ramparts walk is excellent. Visit the brewery if open for a tour and taste of Wipers Times. The Lille Gate is also very beautiful and the Ramparts Cemetery is in a lovely peaceful location. We always pay our respects
