This already became one of my top favorite boss themes in the series, and one of my favorites in video games in general. The slow, yet intense buildup as the theme gets more and more climatic and then the instruments just go ham afterwards that it seriously makes you wanna kick some boss butt. While I'm on topic, I gotta say this...the boss fights in IX are really fun! I even love how some of the bosses require you to use your Gifts, and some bosses from previous games make a return! Seriously Falcom, hats off to you. And yes...I'm a simp over Adol's Monstrum form. Sue me.

Synth Rock/Synth Metal is a thing you know? Besides, rock doesn't fully has to do with the instruments, it also has to do with the pace and rhythm. And on top of it all, Ys music is game music first and foremost and has always been very synthetic, even back in the 2000s. Rock and rock-like music are just sub-categories of game music, and this has always been very obvious in Ys music. Let's get real.

I can't help but to consider this kind of sound a step back compared with previous, undeniabily rocking, Ys tracks like Valestein Castle or The Strongest Foe.
