If you'd replace Adol and the companion with Jak and Daxter it would fit perfectly. I don't like where this is going. Don't make this an arcade platformer! 😕 I admit I only played VIII and Celceta but this doesn't look good. I doubt something like this was present in previous games. Plan to play IX soon.

lol Ys X is on their new engine from all I can tell and that's probably the exact reason it looks like ass Ys VIII and IX aren't perfect at all but VIII is a vita game originally and has outstanding visual design and IX looks good when it isn't overwhelmingly grey in its color palette this, however? it's so oversaturated and unpleasant to look at

Agreeing with mushy here that they are low on manpower, I must also add that it's not like the graphics is what makes the game, it's all about gameplay. Who needs HD or beautiful polygons if the gameplay is not fun? I would rather play a low resolution but fun game over the beautiful HD but boring and dull gameplay. Part of the reason that Ys series (or any jrpg that aren't not necessary hd) is still popular in Japan is that they aren't picky about graphics, it's all about gameplay, it's just that here in the west that people are always complaining about graphics. But if i have to complain about one thing is that i hope the next game have better controlls. Ys 8 and Ys 9 controls really put me off so i really had to remap the buttons on menu to make the game playable for me and it work well afterwards. Well I had that problem in nintendo switch but i don't know if PS4 had the same problem with controls though.

first clips are really really laggy, but the rest of the video the clips are locked 60fps so I assume those were early builds.

Even though gameplay seems okay (from what can be gathered in just 8 minutes anyway), graphics looks horrible... I mean, it's not like I care about the graphics THAT much, but - c'mon, it's 2023, why it looks like an early PS3 game? I can only hope it's just because the game is still in active development and not polished enough... But, then again, why even bother showing it like that?

Ys 8 was a vita game actually. The post game dungeon was a new feature added to every port afterwards. But yeah ys 9 was painful to play on PS4, playing the pc version made the experience so much better for me.
