Falcom sadly does not seem to value their OSTs anymore, in the sense that they are not willing to put in the funds ( hire a better contractor than singa and contract more tracks to Jindo) to make their OST retain high quality even with insufficient in house talent availabe. Since falcom does not value a huge aspect of their games anymore, I consequently value their games less too and can't say I am too thrilled to play Ys X. I can certainly patiently wait for however long the localization takes. Though, part of that is is also due to the sailing not only looking lame as fuck but being confirmed to be so by reviews thus far.

@@AstraProc To be fair, Jindo's little involvement in Ys X has more to do with him handling the whole Ys 35th anniversary album, which is massive. That being said, yes, there is no excuse for Falcom continuing to exploit Singa for dirt cheap, and his output clearly shows since Ys IX that this is not balanced at all, both in quatity (too much) and also in quality (awful). I can't comment too much about the games (I don't play Kiseki, and I have little motivation to play Ys IX/X), but what I've heard is far from ideal, especially considering that some of their games from the last decade are masterpieces (Ys VIII, Nayuta)

@@AokiKatsumata Oh he’s doing the whole thing? That is great news. Honestly, a good falcom super strange album brings me more joy than their games and I’m not even joking. I might just go ahead and pre order it from cd Japan. I think it’s important we Fans directly support these albums so we can get more, unless they leave them to all to Singa, then we boycott them haha. My hype for Ys X is also very low, as the soundtracks taking a step down sucks but the sailing also not only looks terrible but basically every review says it’s bad, so my worst fears have been realized. I’ve also been told the level design is EVEN MORE linear than 8 and that was already a big issue for me in that game (I don’t really consider it a masterpiece). I haven’t played 9 yet either but I do actually have some hype for it because the character design is extremely badass and gameplay plus setting looks fun to me. Not looking forward to hearing Singa‘s music though. I can’t comment on Kiseki either, as I’ve only played a bit of trails in the sky but from what little I have played of it so far, the music has been the best thing about the game.

@@AstraProc Yeah there are solid reasons to believe that Jindo is handling the whole thing. Find out in 8 days! And yeah, I'd definitely rather have a good album than 3 below average games as well. Jindo and Koguchi are the only reason I'm still looking forward to Falcom music releases, and only full Jindo arrange albums are worth buying. Trails in the Sky FC is actually great! Slow-paced, but great. I did not have the patience to finish SC tho

If you like this track, I highly recommend checking out the Oath in Felghana OST. Jindo injected this track with whatever he injected his arrangement of Searing Struggle with.
