As many times as the script calls for. In real life he WOULD be a vegetable. He does have a girlfriend who lives in Hartford later in the series, but they need to create romantic tension with women in each episode

@@debbieking3575 Johnny had a girlfriend named Betty Lewis. She did not appear very often. There was one show where she was suspected of murder (but she was innocent, of course). That episode is 661 The Double Identity Matter. Another episode with Betty Lewis is episode 690 The Mystery Gal Matter.
