I first listened to old time radio in the 70’s while my dad was stationed overseas in Holland. The variety of shows ranging from comedy, suspense , western, Sherlock, and JD. Came through AFN ( armed forces network) on weekends in the 6-10 am time slot , then American bandstand, Casey Kasem, and soul train rocked the airwaves 10-1 pm . I still have some reel to reel recordings of lots of these programs. What a time to listen to radio. I also forgot… Wolfman Jack came on at 10pm weekdays.

EXCELLENT STORY with Virginia Gregg, Howard McNear, Larry Dobkin, John Dehner etc. This one is a keeper. As a teenager I would listen to this show in the late 50's and even recorded half an episode in 1958; ''THE LATIN LOVELY MATTER''' on my disc-recorder. I got the whole episode now among maybe over 50 Johnny Dollar features, mostly with Bob Bailey.

Wishing someone would put these back on AM radio. The golden age of radio is much needed today.

You're out of luck Chris. Where I live (Boston Area) we used to have radio stations which had weekly old-time radio shows, which were from the 40s to the 70s. But they've been taken off the air because too many people found these shows contained “racist and sexist material”

I prefer Edmond O'Brien as J.D. but still listen to Bailey,Lund and Mohr cause the way each added their own nuances to the role 👍🙌👏🤗

Edmond O'Brien is the most hard-boiled Johnny Dollar by far, V L. and he is the 2nd most listened to Johnny Dollar as well

Disappointing shallow story! Mr Johnstone should stick to directing! His other writers are great!
