In yeti4.2.2,scrapggle seems to work on the feather uv, not on each fibre.how to deal with it

Thank you very much for this Tutorial it helped me, as a Beginner, alot. But I have a Question, everytime I split and merge my Feathers the number of Fibers doubles. What I mean is, after Instancin the Feather I have 3601 Fibers, but when I split and make changes like you have shown in the Video my Fibers Count increases to 7202 and my Object Count goes up to 2, before it was 1. The Result is that the Memory Usage and Evaluation Time increases. For a few Feathers this is fine, but when I'm thinking about making a Bird or sth I have hundreds of Feathers and then this would fill out my available RAM pretty fast. What I want to know is, is there a way to split and merge the Feathers without doubling my Fiber Count or is there sth that I'm missing?

thanks for question! this issue is related to that scale node doesn't kill 0 length fibers. I'll try to find a solution to the instance node selection stage, not after. At this moment this idea doesn't work correctly.

Hi! you tell me more about your feather scattering: what you use for UpVector in Scatter node, do use guides or Yeti groom etc.

why rendering yeti in arnold 6 now work i have yeti 3.5.3 and arnold 6

because PeregrineLabs do not update Yeti for new Arnold 6 core, but they will do very soon)

Hi Yuriy, how do you convert a feather from strand to fibre, when I do it, the feathers shows off, and when I tried to add an attribute 'feather_part', an error comes out: Yeti 3.6.0: ERROR ( attribute0 in pgYetiMaya1Shape ) Error evaluating Default parameter - No variable named $feather_part // . Anything tricky here?

Hey! did you inherit feather_part attribute in the instance node in the Objects tab in Inherit Attributes line?

@@CGMeneldil Well sorry Yuriy,turns out it was my fault, as I didnot pick the 'feather to fibre' option in the Convert node, after this, everything works fine! However, another question might not related to this tutorial, that how could you render the Rachii like a tube, as it render like a flat plane by default.

@@fengxuanli5079 for tube you need to duplicate first Yeti node (but in this case if you use scatter node you will get another random seed), disable everything except rachiis and in Arnold tab switch to Thick mode
