One option going 1st is to side in a copy of Invader of Darkness which cuts them off from activating quick-play spell cards completely. You can send this to GY multiple ways & then summon it with Branded Expulsion on their turn

Pretty standard Branded deck. Looks nice. Just question on the Nightmare. Is it the superior card over Ra's Disciple? I believe I've seen some run Disciple to do the same thing (locks out special summons except by Disciple's effect, and it lasts as long as Disciple is on the field, not just for the turn like Nightmare), so is there any added benefits for why Nightmare is the superior "no ss" target to run? Or is either one viable to run? (Since Nightmare is, like, 20 bucks rn, while I believe Disciple is mere pennies by comparison, so this is also asking in terms of a budget alternative while still doing the same sort of function)

because you can't get rid of nightmare. you're getting rid of Ra to attack for game, so why not just use the one who instantly locks them out for the whole turn? If puppet is a break-the-budget thing right now, Ra works ok. Just remember as soon as Nightmare hits the field they're locked and can't Dark Hole/E-Con/Tribute it to get rid of it.

Granguignol can also send Nightmare, whilst it can't send Disciple. Basically, running Disciple locks you into having to send it off Branded Fusion or discarding it. (randomly getting it into GY)
