What's crazy to me is I got roaring ocean snake to col without knowing any of this. I thought the game could just tell when you used the same creature a lot. And I brought this up because I'm currently ranking up barrel dragon for the extra slot reels and because he's my boy, but I might have to pivot to someone I can fuse im only at lt col and I'm dying

It’s scary how much it takes past COL skip turns for 7 hours or forget it ,and it’s stupid stuff gets demoted for dumping it and fusing wish they’d only derank if enemy kills it

So basically, once you get to SD, don’t lose duels or discard and use your leader in battle or keep it face up. Wish they made SD permanent with what a huge grind it is, but most of my decks are centered around my deck leader for that reason.

Yeah I feel like they may have forgot to make SD permanent, considering it only has the one value they may have intended to do that but never bothered. The bad thing is as you said, discard/fuse/dump lowers XP when it shouldnt - its as if they meant to have that value for when a monster is destroyed by battle, and all other actions that send monsters to the graveyard should have 0, but they programmed it the other way around. That would make sense so its what I assume happened

For some deck leaders, it doesn't seem to matter if you get them to SD or not, seeing as some types gain all their leader abilities by senior admiral. Sea Serpents are actually a pain because of this, I find, since they get reduced summon cost for same type at SD (and they can have a reduction of 2 SP if they are a level 6 monster), and since this is their best leader ability, you don't want them to be demoted.

@@matthewkuscienko4616 Theres also 8 Star Dragons and above (sooo Blue Eyes White Dragon) needs SD to get cost reduction, level 5 and above warriors require SD to get Weaken Specific Enemy Type (sooo if you derank from SD, the only leader ability you have is Extended Support Range), 6 star Beast-Warriors (need SD to get Level Cost Reduction, 5 star beast-warriors only need ADM), 6 star winged beasts need SD for level cost reduction, level 2 fairies need SD to get LP recovery, 5 star+ Fish need SD to get weaken specific enemy type, level 8+ machines need SD for level cost reduction (there are no obtainable level 8 machines without cheats), level 2 pyros need SD for lp recovery, level 2 plants need SD for lp recovery, immortals with a deck cost above 40 only get one leader ability; level cost reduction, and they get it at SD.

@@ClovissenpaiDotR It sounds like they like to give you the level cost reduction at SD for pretty much every type that has it, which is useful to know. It also makes it a pain given how much grinding you have to do for this; I think they made SD able to demote because all the other ranks (besides 2nd Lt) also be able to be demoted. I wasn't actually aware of how many monsters needed to reach SD to get all their abilities, I was just using sea serpents as an example since I ranked one up myself. Also, I thought it was level 7 or higher dragons that got summon cost reduction for 2 stars, not at level 8.

It kinda sucks that fusing monsters loses exp for them. For instance a zombie warrior fusing with a dark plant gives you pumking. But instead of losing exp, they should gain +2 exp for helping you fuse. The game should see that as a good thing

You mentioned that a ranked monster doesn’t lose exp from being destroyed in battle. Would that include being destroyed by a magic or trap card???

Yeah, the game was released Japan only and aesthetically it's really catered to teens/young adult, then because yugioh became popular they just translated this game to english instead of making a new game. So really this game was never designed for children to play.

You can promote them, but you can't set them as deck leaders in vanilla. If you want to, you have to obtain a copy of them by using a cheating device

Unfortunately, Harpie Lady Sisters is not an obtainable card (outside of creating or using it during battle), so you can't make it a deck leader without cheating/hacking the card into your chest

Yes. You can get more XP per turn by destroying monsters technically, but this makes the process overall slower as the animations for moving/destroying cards etc makes the turns multiple times as long as they are if you just do the 5 card face up skipping method.
