Lol my Judge at locals lost me a match once, we were 1 - 1 and i had game on the board but the judge was conviced that heatleo can send field spells back to deck. Which removed my game winning board and i lost. He googled the rulings again after making his decision and apologized but i already lost at that point. So F that mate.

At one of my regionals, I was playing vs Pendulums. In which he summoned 2 monsters, then pendulum summoned 4 more. I Nibiru'd him, and he called the head judge, who said, I cannot nibiru because pendulum summon was considered 1 summon, hence only 3 monsters were summoned. I still won, but we all know who the Thomas is here, right?

Back when I was a kid, I pulled a Hamon, Lord if Striking Thunder from a pack and I was so happy. I showed it to my classmates/friends who also played Yu-Gi-Oh, and one of them named Thomas was interested in trading an Obelisk he had for my Hamon. Being the dumb kid I was, I gladly traded it away because I thought a God card was super powerful due to the anime. It took me a few months to realise I traded for a fake, as it was too glossy and an official Obelisk wouldn't come out until several years later. Thomas never gave back my card and would later move to Washington DC in high school. So screw you Thomas!

i hate liking playing Yugioh. I like the deck building aspect like "should I run such and such or should I run 2 of these instead of 3?" etc and it boosted my confidence because after a terrible time through high school I felt like a social outcast and didn't really have any friends that I could talk to. But what ruins the game for me is meta. Meta decks to me take no skill to use and ruin the fun for everyone as all you do is normal summon one monster then boom spend 5 mins repeatedly linking and then by the time its your opponents turn you have a full board and if they try to normal summon, special summon or activate a card effect you are just "nope negate fuck you" before OTK/FTKing them. Here's a shitty metaphor I came up with explaining it. Meta decks: you get to eat your favourite food every day and at first its great but eventually you will get bored of it. (the food being winning a duel) My deck: I get to eat my favourite food every week. Occasionally I will win by luck, my opponent was a bye or I'm put against a new player. (To anyone who asks the decks I have used are zombies with shiranuis and danger dinowrestlers with a marshmellon for meme)

SandvichEat Fresh meta decks take a ton of skill to pilot. The combos are very complex and you have to work around your opponents field and try and come up with a new combo to try and get through. Just because they always win doesn’t mean they’re easy to play. Also, playing a meta deck isn’t boring, it’s super fun. Sincerely, a non meta player.
