When using playing cards, Jokers are either considered wild cards or they are stronger than the face cards (like if they were used in a game of Spades or War). The jokers can also be used to replace missing or damaged cards, or if they aren't being used sometimes people will designate face cards to be wild. Thus making them the "jokers" as it were. So there being more than 2 Jokers makes sense as it's referencing how people got around damaged cards without buying more.
@MasterArchfiend3 жыл бұрын
Technically this is still a series. They have cards clearly made to support them, but an archetype is defined by having support that specifically mentions a shared name. For example "Gimmick Puppet" is an archetype as there are cards that specifically mention "Gimmick Puppet" as opposed to individual card names or shared traits like Type, Attribute or in some cases ATK and/or DEF. I apologize for the nerd moment, but some new players don't quite understand the difference and thus deserve some clarity. On a side note: Have you covered Mathmech yet?
@MansMan420693 жыл бұрын
Reminds me of [The Melody of Awakening Dragon] which is clearly Blue-Eyes support due to the oddly specific mention of 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF.
@MasterArchfiend3 жыл бұрын
@@MansMan42069 Yeah. Sometimes what is clearly intended to be legacy support for a certain card or archetype is made more generic either to improve the card's usefulness or because they have a reason to not make a series into an archetype. Melody is a case of the former as searching for a Dragon with a certain stat line means a lot more options than being restricted to "Blue-Eyes" monsters.
@MansMan420693 жыл бұрын
@@MasterArchfiend Perhaps for the case of the Poker Knights monsters, they simply never had a categorical identifier attached to their family of related cards. Konami simply didn't have the foresight to give it an archetype name. Maybe future reprints will have errata text that says these are always considered "Poker Knight" cards.
@MasterArchfiend3 жыл бұрын
@@MansMan42069 Well archetypes are dictated by the OCG name which is why cards that support the Warrior archetype or Magician archetype have to clarify that they support the synchro and pendulum monsters respectively and it is also why a lot of old cards needed a name change due to not being part of an archetype introduced years later. While turning a series into an archetype is possible and has been done before, it would require some behind the scenes discussions and a lot of reprints which Konami tends to only bother with certain cards.

In a lot of anime and games, JACK is actually quite powerful, even against a king or Queen. It makes perfect sense in the game 500. Jacks are strongest (known as the bower cards) when you're playing with a specific trump suit (which you do most of the time). The king would then be next strongest of the 3 and Queen the weakest. They seem to be drawing specifically from this game or trump suit based games like it.
@igorlopes84632 жыл бұрын
The fact that the Jack ends up at the King's right side might be a reference to the fact that, as the most loyal subject of the king, he can be considered the King's right hand man and the Queen being at the King's left side might refer to the fact that usually, the queen's throne is always at the king's left side. So, the Queen standing at the King's left side and the Jack standing at the King's right side makes sense and might not have been a coincidence.

Absorb Queen! Fusion Jack! Evolution King! Spade 10! Jack! Queen! King! Ace! Royal Straight Flush! These are all quotes from Kamen Rider Blade (2004-2005), since its theme is based from Poker cards. I recommend you should watch it. It's an amazing series

i just realize that the Arcana's versions 2 of them are on the extra deck for been fusion and a link while one is on the main deck for been a regular effect monster. Its also interesting that there is no version for a Ritual, Synchron and XYZ, so i wonder if Konami in the future they will make such versions as well.

Could you do the Agents/Hyperion archetype next? They recently got support to have all the planets and i have theories on the different hyperions and wanted to hear yours. I had been searching for my personal main deck for a long time and feel these cards are it, and would love to see a video on my go to cards
