With lost on field you can’t ash the branded fusion or any effects that involve fusion summoning. Unless I’m missing something I’m not familiar with the cat effects on board at the time in game 1

Lost says you can't negate the activation and ash only negates the effect. So you can still ash the fusion if lost is on field.
