When I was a kid, the guy at the store would let us set the booster packs on the counter and let us press on the sides of the booster. If you felt the cards 'bounce' when you pressed on the side of the booster, you were sure it was a foil. This was because foils were warped and were curved. My friends and I bought only these, this trick worked EVERY time.

I remember the MRL-era very fondly, not because of the set in particular, but because of something odd. It was Christmas time, and my aunt took me and my cousin to the store for something. Anywho, my aunt was nice enough to buy us a pack each and I would not believe it if someone told me... but we leave, and open our packs in the car, my cousin pulled the Serpent Knight Dragon, so I'm like secretly thinking "fuck, he pulled a secret, I know I'm gonna pull shit now, then I open mine and get a Blue Eyes - Toon Dragon. We were both kinda like... what? How'd we both pull Secret Rares? These were the individual packs wrapped in cardboard, not just fresh out of a box.

Hey you said in the beginning of the video that you'd like to keep most of the packs sealed and only open foils. What do you do with the rest of the packs do you just keep them laying around or do you sell them? I can't imagine people wanting to pay much for almost 0% chance at not pulling a foil. Also curious to where you keep finding these 1st ed boxes and how much you pay for them. Been looking for some 1st ed stuff for awhile now.

up to I think it was lon or lod there would be a foil every 4 packs 3 packs between each foil pack if you always start one side and finish te other but secret rares wouldn't count but apart from the secret you can know when you get a foil so long as you open how I said so it's a good technique if you don't have any scales or the scaling is all other the place

Can honestly say I've never seen the rares in a box scaling heavier than the foils. Really odd stuff. Awesome vid though, Confiscation, Snatch Steal, and The Forceful Sentry were all cards I used to run in my original Yugioh hand destruction deck. Brought back the good times!

I'm sorry I do not agree with scaling the packs and stuff, I did laugh my ass off at the first 10 or so packs because of the epic fail...you kinda deserved that for scaling.However I can tell that you are more of a collector as your PSA cards that you send in are in much better condition than mine are from that day and age...my LOB, MRL (now SRL), MRD cards are just in crap condition but at least they are still playable via sleeves...I don't collect for the re-sale value though, I collect to play them...but back then I knew nothing about keeping my cards in sleeves like I do now.
