How are you playing around the Mulcharmies without cards like Ash or Crossout?

if your opponent uses purulia, you can simply just do your normal combo while only giving them 2 cards (nept and moulin summons), but then youre taking 2 out with moulin while still comboing off, so purulia does nothing against mermails. fuwalos is worse to deal with, but since you summon from hand with neptabyss, moulin, and teus, my usual end board will have moulin hitting the board, and im setting up a field where i have abyssrhine in the grave with neptabyss in hand + posidera in grave. this happened against one of my match ups where my opponent had double fuwalos against me, and used them during the stand by phase. i didnt give him a single draw, went for a moulin play to discard 2 more cards, leaving him with just 2 after the draw, and had the posidera bounce + infantry send from deck to deal with whatever he would go for. your end board is worse, but most of the time i got fuwalos'd, id give just 1-2 cards, but my end board going first is just too disruptive and strong enough to deal with whatever. (my opponents had fuwalos a LOT at this event)

@@michaeIsark What about Meowls? Since the Porpoise line and Anemone summon from GY a lot. Is your line around Fuwalos done with just NS nept? What's the line? Also, do you not play Ashe because you don't find the Mulcharmies that important? Or is it not blow out enough for you to play it?

@@uncontinued5064 ngl, if your opponent is playing meowls against you, then you’ve already won that game because that’s horrible. That being said, your entire main combo never summons from grave, even with the equip spell if you make your main combo a tiny bit different at the end. Coelacanth is only used as a backup, I almost never summon him turn 1 if I don’t need to Around fuwalos, the “line” is just getting to moulinglacia with neptabyss, sending dragoons adding dragoons and just playing your hand out without summoning from extra. There’s no line, but your sea serpent searches get you another neptabyss and Posidera instead of the normal searches. Then summoning moulinglacia to drop 2 cards outta their hand. You can play into fuwalos, but not recommended Playing Ashe just for the mulcharmies isn’t enough of a reason to play it. Imo, if you aren’t running 15-18 hand traps and are able to consistently open 3 hand traps (with one being Ashe), is the only way it’s strong. For me, I wanted to only use hand traps that were good if I opened just 1-2, like fuwalos, droll, and imperm for the board breaking ability, which helped me maintain my consistency instead of playing 44+. Ashe would be the next hand trap added

​@@michaeIsark Thanks for all the answers! Forgive me but I have a few more. You say that Coelacanth is only as a back up and don't make it turn 1, how does that work? Do you use Nept, Pike, and Shadow Squad as a type of bait to then win with Coelacanth if one of those cards got interrupted? Do you assume if they didn't interrupt any of those cards (assuming you didn't use Minstrel), they don't have a HT so you Shrine for Poseidra or Teus since you said that you don't use Coelacanth turn 1? Is there something I'm missing? You said in another comment that the normal end board is 2 Toad, Mermail King, Lacia/Gaios. How do you make that board without summoning summoning from grave? Is the main combo's endboard different from this endboard? If you don't summon Coelacanth, do you make this board using Poseidra's soul charge effect then shuffle it back with either Toad or Triaina to use it on turn 3 to out whatever they have left? What are your thoughts on Talents in the deck? Since it could ameliorate getting HT'd in hands where you only draw 1 or 2 engine. Was it not worth it over Droll? you can special the coelacanth feom GY with Abysstrite, keeper is not a necessity now

Didn’t mention this in the profile, but the reason why I don’t like that is because you’re linking your “win conditions” together. If I’m able to get to any of my rank 7s, then I’ve either already won, or my opponent still has interaction that I wasn’t able to clear out. So having Keeper to ensure that I save Posidera for my very last play won me several games and eliminates how fragile the deck can be. You also aren’t always able to get into a rank 7, lots of steps need to happen and resolve to get to that point

So, the play you were describing at 15:30 with shif and porpoise into dragite actually doesn’t work. Shif can only quick synchro into fish synchros unfortunately. Unless you run the ghoti synchro 8 or deep beyond, that eff is unfortunately kinda useless.

Fair point, I didn't summon Dragite once throughout the entire event using Shif effect, which is why I mentioned that it was the main flex spot in the extra deck. That being said, I'll look into swapping it out for other cards, or mainly just summoning it off something like Anemone and going into Dragite like that

You mention imperm being mainly a board breaker, would it have been more beneficial to main droplet and cut imperm to do the same job as imperm but better?

For game 1s, Imperm was perfect as usually I just needed to stop the one King Cesar or Detonator. This deck can play through a lot, so just stopping one thing was perfect. This also still allowed you the option to use it like a normal hand trap in situations where you have Fuwalos active, or when you have Droll + Imperm and know you can shut out your opponent. Games 2/3 going second, Imperm was swapped for Droplet every game

when it comes to virtue stream i feel like you either main it or dont play it at all, because G1 virtue dragon is just a dead space in the ED without any real purpose, i guess an argument could be made for its effect but idk , 90% of the reason you summon it is for the trap. additionally, how do you deal with shifter g2&3 ? sure i guess you can play under shifter with the king fish, but it seems sub optimal not to have a straight up answer to it, crossout designator maybe? if you continue playing droll in the main you also have that as a target in case the opp sides in drolls against you

G1 virtue dragon is still insane, because in your full combo it sets you up to either have access to double infantry discard + neptabyss discard (with posidera in grave), or it can lead to you replenishing resources. since your end board should always be double toad, neptabyss link 3, and either lacia or gaios, virtue provides the perfect body count while also gaining you resources. id say the exact opposite, 90% of the time im summoning it is not for the trap. shifter is rough, itll always be rough for this deck. your main "out" is drawing abyssrhine, but if you dont, not much you can do. you can side crossout with the shifter, but for me, it wasnt as important. knowing that at the moment of this event, ryzeal variants are the overwhelming majority of player base helped, as well as coming with terms that if they have the shifter, they have it. i just hope i also have rhine. i dont like crossout too much in testing and practice. stopping droll is cool, but getting drolled isnt the end all be all with this deck anymore. as long as your first search is rhine, you should be good

almost always i banished dragite, toad, bahamut, virtue dragon, gaios, and either abyss keeper if i didnt open the coelacanth, or dweller if i did. this leaves you with your essential links, at least 1 toad summon, as well as access to posidera. most of the time i prosperity, i end with toad, dwellar, neptabyss link, lacia, as well the double infantry discard
