You can't really fit in all the engines and handtraps at 40 cards, and you'll be more likely to draw your garnets at 40 cards. Imo, at that point you should just use a different engine. Called by being at 1 currently isn't really that big of a deal since you can just replace it with more extenders. Droll will MURDER you tho lmao
