The chant in the Japanese dub is so ominous because you don’t know Marik is saying. Its sounds like a forbidden language that only those close to the Pharaoh would understand. You don’t know what he’s saying but you know something bad is coming.

***** The german voice was much more deeper and so that evil expression was much more present in the german version. Here the voice actor is somehow trying to sound deep but it works just as well. Well, I like the german version, too, because childhood + yugioh on german = better for me :P

This is why I liked the sub version of this arc better and just this alone makes it worth watching in the sub. The english dub version took the mystery and suspense out of the whole chant and make it not interesting anymore even if I do like the chant translation. In the english sub it does sound like he is reciting an incantation for a forbidden spell with how much sinister vibe it got going. God like Ra are much more powerful and had a much greater presence when you keep the mystery and danger to them in keeping the chant mysterious. I always have fun trying to mimick Japanese Marik Ra chant but found myself unable to match it. I say, Marik was the only to have mastered Ra to his fullest capability. The fact that he used graveyard and resurrection strategy only made Ra infinitely more threatening and borderline invincible at times. 😊

Solo hay una cosa que me gusta de la versión de 4Kids y es la música. Ver ese momento de Ra saliendo de su modo esfera sin música se siente vacía la escena,en cambio en la versión de 4Kids la música que suena mejora el momento haciendo que sea una gran amenaza inminente que va surgiendo y el hecho de que la música suene antigua y algo egipcia le da un buen toque. Para mi el momento perfecto sería el cántico y dovlaje original junto a la música que metió 4Kids. God's Anger me encanta pero no me gusta como suena aquí,mi momento favorito donde suena es cuando Marik ataca a Jonouchi y ahí hasta le hace honor al nombre del tema porque está recibiendo toda la ira de un dios
