this brings back warm memories. This opera company came to Singapore in 1996, it was their first 'live' performance here. Opera aficionados packed the auditorium ever night of their 12-nite season. The crowd loved the 3 main leads; xiaosheng Yew Ji Kiong, huadans Kheng Har, and Mak Mun Kit - the later 2 were barely 25 years old then, but they gave all they had every nite. It was pure unadulterated treat.
