Ijiri-san, I was born in 1959, and the closest thing we had to Bromides were "trading cards" and collectible decals. What was popular for us growing up in the USA was a series of cards called "Odd Rods" which usually came with 5 decal cards and a stick of bubble gum; they were funny drawings of hot rod cars with monsters driving them. As is similar in Japan, Americans enjoy their "wordplay" and "double entendre" meanings with their English language, and the stickers would usually have some popular phrase written in script, but interpreted in an entirely different and funny way. This video was very interesting, and a reminder that it doesn't require a large fortune to find happiness; I still remember how happy I was to collect them at 10 cents apiece!
