I'd say the Persona 4 game was more for the players experience and choices (Characters relay a little more on you for their development), whereas the Persona 4 anime was for the characters and story (Episode 4 is a pretty good example for what I mean. If you can't then, characters develop themselves, vs relaying on you to max them out their development)

Well Ren/Akira has two different names in the anime and the manga so it's difficult to refer to him by his name, personally I just call him Joker because at least people won't be arguing. I'm still disappointed Joker didn't have a proper personality in the anime while Yu had, self-insert blank characters are okay in video games but not in anime or mangas. I also think Joker had the potential to be an interesting, complex character so I wish they didn't just made him a self-insert for the player.

In fairness, I think a lot of his chad actions and decisions are available to you in the game, and a good chunk of them do actually give you the best bonuses. We are basically watching a perfect playthrough of the game played out in full with the grindy bits removed, and the result is something special.

She destroys the ceiling and what was Yu´s reaction?: "What the h...? why does she enters by the ceiling instead of using the door??" instead of being worried about that someone has destroyed the ceiling like if it was made of cookie. The fact of making that comment twice only reinforce that our boy is weird. About the chad part... the anime is just a collection with the funniest/troll answers in game. We have option of kissing Teddie or even flirt with a police office.

it really helps that in the anime they made an effort to make narukami his own character. i like ren and makoto to an extent but their characterization begins and ends with their tragic backstories, and they dont show much of their character in their shows or mangas all that much. narukami has really good character moments in his spinoffs that really drive home that he's his own character first, and a self insert second at this point

Especially after playing P3/P5, Yu is the perfect protagonist for this type of game. Confident, compassionate, and upbeat, with a splash of cockiness and awkwardness. I love that the dialogue options you unlock with Guts usually make the people around you cringe, so it's like Yu is learning to be himself despite how people react. GOD P4 is so good...
