月山貞利氏 後鳥羽院 新御番鍛冶神前鍛錬 隠岐神社 隠岐の島

2021年10月16日、島根県隠岐島の海士町にある隠岐神社にて、無監査刀匠月山貞利氏による神前鍛錬が催されました。
46年前の1975年にも、人間国宝である月山貞一氏を筆頭に昭和御番鍛冶の鍛錬披露が行われ、貞一氏の息子である貞利氏とともに一振りの太刀が鍛錬されました。
今回、月山貞利氏は息子の貞信氏とともに島を訪れ、この重要な伝統を次世代につなぐべく、平成を代表する刀鍛冶が隠岐神社に刀剣を奉納する「新御番鍛冶プロジェクト」の旗揚げとして鍛錬を行いました。
