I don’t know about you guys, but bui left a HUGE impact on me when I watched yu-yu-hakusho. He was only in it for a few episodes and yet and still everything about him was so badass.

Shorty is too thorough! *"I actually wear this armor to protect my opponent from myself."* Bui was so thorough and so strong, but never flexed on anyone, unless he had too. One of the few men I could actually say I have a bromance for.. or more so, find to be very admirable, in how the way he carries himself. Bui will, always be, my all time favorite anime character. And btw... shorty was so tough. After being chased by the Dragon Of the Darkness Flame... he caught that joker, and threw it back at Hiei. Now how thorough is that?!

I don't understand why he wasn't brought back as an ally in the three kings arc. He was stronger than all the guys they brought back during the dark tournament and he was the only member of team toguro that wasn't sadistic/evil

That actually survived his Dark tournament match, and even more so, the Dragon of the Darkness Flame, doesn't?! I mean.. who else has those two accomplishments to their name.

Bui left a huge ad lasting impression on me that has never been fulfilled. There’s hardly anything known about this guy and he’s not that well represented in art by fans by what I’ve seen and it kills me. Bui is one of the coolest anime characters that nobody knows anything about, that ever existed

It’s ridiculous that Hiei won against Bui. I mean I know he is the character who is supposed to win but how he beat Bui so easily was ridiculous. Then Bui didn’t make a comeback in the later Tournament is also outrageous

Yeah but Bui was weaker than Togoro and togoro ended up only being a B level demon in terms of power. The top demons in the laer tournament were A and S level which would've wiped the floor with Bui and Togoro.

Did you forget Yusuke’s team in that arc were of lower level demons that were far weaker than Bui and Toguro but somehow with a little bit of training became S class level??? So Bui making a return would have fit better than some weaker demons joining in on the other tournament

He definitely didn't defeat him easily. He had to swallow the fucking darkness flame after Bui threw it back. He was way stronger than base Hiei. And it's not like it was an asspull anyway. The darkness flame is supposed to be a broken ability and Hiei's whole dark tournament character arc was about him struggling to master it. I like Bui a lot because of Vic Mignona's performance, but he was pretty forgettable in the manga and only the more popular characters were brought back.

That's the one drag about this series. This is just one of a number of character's whose backstory gets little to no development over the course of the animated series, and I would not say "no," to hearing more about where Bui came from. I know he lost to Toguro, and is training to one day beat him, but I can count two throw away Kuwabara fights that would have been the perfect time to expound on those two characters (Bui and the bomb guy)
