funny story is that i used to be a big fan of syobon {and still are}, and i actually used to play a multiplayer version of this game in 2021 {you could see the other players, but you both cant interact with eachother most of the time}, and i had SO much fun by doing so, i even met an anonymous best friend at the time who was a blue colour, and i could tell if they were online by recognizing them by that shade of blue. even though we couldnt directly talk, we still had the time of our life! i miss you, pal.

@mossnb i dont think you could really tell by which exact colour you were, but i suppose that if you saw someone who was a certain colour, they would see you as that same colour aswell {which is probably how me and that friend always recognized eachother}. glad to see someone else who experienced this game, though! :]

Hey Yub! wanted to give you out some tips and suggestions. 1. You can safely close the tab for the game, in the main menu, by pressing your number keys (1-8), it sets the level you want to start in pressing 0 sends you to a randomly generated level 2. You said about more Cat Mario Games, there's a "Syobon Action Advance" fangame, it remakes levels from most of the cat mario games, and brings new stuff in it as well!

Glad to know people still remembers and plays Syobon Action : D There's a total of 8 normal levels, so there's only 3 levels left to beat, but there's also a secret slippery "ice" level when you press 9 in title screen, or play randomized levels with 0, you can also play the other levels pressing from 1 to 8 but you should switch to "Open Syobon Action aka cat mario" for better performance, just don't hit the blue blocks, the spikes are still with bugged texture but alteast they are not invisible anymore. And to answer your question yes, there's more games about Syobon action but only fangames. There's a few of decent quality fangames such as Syobon action 3, 4 and 5, and also a interesting one being 3d, and also a cancelled one named Syobon Action nostalg. But there's even more fangames in development! Theres a Syobon Action community discord server in which many people (including me) share about their progress and there's direct links to downloadable fangames.

Yub it turns out that you haven’t beat Mario you’ve only found the secret. There is a way to fully beat the game. You actually can throw the poisonous mushroom at the boss without the boss making the blocks fall

There’s a 3ds port of the game and I beat all 9 levels(you’re in the secret latter half of the game, and there’s a secret 9th level that you have to get by holding 9 on the title screen when you start playing
