Update: The Summon Advisor can be used in all games, not just 5 and 6 players. The bonus Action on the central city at the end which I wasn’t sure what it meant, means “Gain 1 VP for each Level 3 building on your City board.” Sacrifice Points: during the sacrifice phase, 2 jade or 4 corn is just 1 sacrifice point regardless of the round. Clan tokens score 1 point each beyond the first. So if you sacrifice 2, you get one point. If you sacrifice 3, you get 2 points. Etc. Only prisoner sacrifice points change based on the round.

Ah! I was just coming to comment on this. The slash is a harsh symbol. It meaning "times" something in one of the pieces is even more confusing.

Hello! Just wanted to say me and my friends played this game today and used your video and it helped a ton! We spent ~20 minutes reading the instructions and so much of it was unclear so I pulled up your video and setup the ipad while we had lunch. You saved our group a ton of headache. I like it. But for me it’s so much missed potential. There’s a lot of form over function with the pyramids. The info used by them could have been tracked in a central board. The round board is gimicky. Still annoys me the jade and corn trays are crappy. Still pisses me if the insert is a joke. The Kickstarter showed so many different compartments and stuff. I think the central cities could have been more interesting as the first round is very repetitive. People fight and get jade or corn. What I do find super interesting, and the real game, is the bidding for sacrifice points and that whole mechanic where it’s worth a lot at the beginning and becomes less and deciding how much to bid etc. the fact cards are one time use. What you wanna spend your resources on to build yourself up strong. Etc. Overall with clarified rules I think the game is fun. I think 3 players is all you need. More is just extra time with no real benefit. I still prefer Kemet and inis and Cyclades etc. but If they release a sticker pack for the 3D pyramids and a better rulbooo that would be nice.

Great video, thanks for the detailed breakdown of the rules, play and icons. Two questions: 1) At 50:56, the card that lets you pay 2 corn to claim the card your opponent just played, what would happen if your opponent played a summons card? Would you get the summons in addition to the card, just get the card or nothing happens? 2) At 1:03:43 you say “if you wanted to buy a level 3 upgrade, and you’re on level 3 of the evolution track, you could go from a level 0 to a level 3, just buy paying 3 corn, if you had that particular building”. Why would you need to be on level 3 of the evolution track in this case? Thanks!

Because the evolution track is the max you can get of any particular building/upgrade/summon. So even if you are level 3 on buildings, all that does is let you have level 3 buildings. If you are only on level 2 of clan upgrades, you can still only get a max level 2 clan upgrade. So for example, let’s say you have that level 3 building that lowers the cost of clan upgrades to one corn per level, like I showed. But you are only level 2 on clan upgrade, you could only upgrade to a level 2 by paying 2 corn. Just remember each track of the evolution board is independent from each other. And wherever your token is on each one is the max you can have for the corresponding thing

Thank you so much for making such a detailed tutorial for the the teach. I got the standard pledge but still received all "Game Ups" because the 5-6 player expansion was sold separately as an add-on, and honestly I think playing a 5 player game is currently unfeasible for me anyways. Maybe I'll nab it in the future when I have a consistent group. Edited to avoid confusion upon clarification.

That’s not accurate. Game up and 5-6 player expansion content are two different things. Game up stuff is stuff I added and I talk about it with the different symbols on cards. But specific 5-6 pkayer expansion content specifically says in the rules to ONLY use with 5-6 players. They aren’t balanced with less. So I bought allll the content in my games. That’s why I have the Kemet crossover stuff, and I show the cards with the other symbols. That’s the game up stuff. But don’t add 5-6 player monsters or the player token upgrades for 5-6 players or your game will be wildly unbalanced.

​​​@@KMReviewsOh hi there. Fast reply! Yes, I am aware that the 5-6 Player expansion has content specifically for 5-6 players, but at 2:55, you point to the Summon Advisor, which is a Game Up module. It's written in the rulebook that you can pick and choose whatever Game Ups you want in your game. Now it is news to me, that said creature are exclusive to 5-6 players. That's an oof. Only creatures I know that are specifically meant for 5-6 Players are the Macaque, Unahpu, and Ixbalanque, right? Anyways, thanks for the clarification!

Hi, I think there is an error in your video. From what I understood of the (french) rulebook, you get a clan token if and only if you wipe out an opponent and you don't already have one for that clan. Thanks for your video !

No. The designer of the game even clarified it on bgg. You do not have to wipe them out, you just have to get at least one prisoner from them. You also have to not already have one as you said. So you could even lose the battle but as long as you hit a prisoner and didn’t have their clan token, you would get one.
