I love and respect Mariko and Max, I've met and interviewed them both. No shade, but let's face it, when Daniel left, Yuck was never going to be the same. The studio version of The Wall is one of my favs of all time, I hate how they can't replicate it properly live. That soaring sound behind the "I know that I'm in space" lyrics. What a debut album. Will be with me for life.
@starlesscoaster4 жыл бұрын
I agree with this 100%. I love what Max and Mariko have done after he left and their solo projects, but none of Yuck's new albums have made me feel the same emotions I've felt with the debut/Oupa/Chew. At the same time happy with where Daniel is heading sonically though, I wasn't a fan of Hebronix but the stuff under his own name is great. I wonder if he'll ever return to writing pop-ish songs again..

That's what's unique about Yuck, they're different. If they would follow the same song structure - verse chorus verse middle 8 outro they would just be a average/regular band... the fact that you don't like this band shows me , Yes!! They're not main stream, they're different. So that's why they're fucking brilliant.

Run your mic through a distortion pedal
@alexeiquijano55407 жыл бұрын
that might work very decently, though changing from a cannon plug to a standard 6.5mm to conect to a guitar pedal might cost you some sound quality. There's pretty decent guitar processors like the Boss Ve-20 that can get you this effect. The real problem is getting a decent voice reverb. Most vocal processors have a very mild and standard reverb. I've found it better to use a Memory Man or a Hall of Fame for this.

I don't really think that dude's comment was called for and I think this band is very good, but I truly think that these guys need to move... like a little. The singer shows a lot of passion just in his voice and I think THAT is a part of why this band is so great to listen to... but I mean, come on. If you have ever played an instrument, you know that you NEED some sort of passion. I'm not saying these dudes are dull. I'm just saying they need to be proud of their music and express it.

When you're playing live and playing with showmanship you don't want to take any chances. Even if they hit the switches once every 100 times they play a song, it's still not worth it.
