Now unless you watch it a couple of times yoy won't understand the nuances in the movie even then it is very much possible that something can be missed the director embedded these things in such a way in the movie. Plus to really understand the movie you need atleast a basic knowledge of chola, chera and pandya kingdoms especially their culture and their rivalries. That's why most people didn't understand when it first came out. This is a fictional movie based on historical references. If you watch this movie just like any other movie then it will come across as a ordinary fantasy story but for those who know how to look this is a cult classic.

What a mind-blowing movie... The war sequence at the end reminds me of Bahubali war sequence, but i should say that Selva sir thought of this even before Bahubali itself. Hatsoff sir. Really sad that you didn't get the recognition like big directors Rajamouli, Shankar etc... I watched this film when I was in 7th standard.. I thought it would be a boring film after watching for the first 1-2min.. after starting the actual story I was driven by something can’t express in words.. such an amazing story it is and every shot is damn good to watch.. ppl didn’t recognised the content of this film at that time.. ppl who didn’t watched this film on big screen would regret for their life time. I felt like same with KGF-1 both are awesome in their own way.
