When I discovered YGO, our 7/11 carried card products(they don't now) and it was just when Yugi and Kaiba came out. My parents spoiled me and got me both(Not at the same time, but over a period of time). Looking back, those old starter decks were expensive. I believe they were 20$ Canadian. Buuuut that's just my memory of the price when I was a kid. So there's no way to know if I'm remembering it right or not.

I remember this deck was what got me back into yugioh, plus I still use the elemental heroes starter deck, I added more cards in and fusions, and it's much more effective than before so I'm glad to see a review on the deck that started my interest of yugioh

one of the reasons I hate konami so much... was expecting this deck to have flame wingman, polymerization, king of the swamp, etc., but instead it has a bunch of 1800+ normal monters and equips :( I know this is a "starter deck", but they could've done a better job than that, it's like they underestimate their audience's intelligence

@Hell Spawn this is just plain dumb business choice... they could release all of jaden classic stuff in this and they would sell much more (most people would buy it 3x if it was a good deck), but I don't know what goes through their head... Maybe king of the swamp and some other generic cards could be left out and be sold in the regular packs, but the core HERO stuff SHOULD BE IN IT.

@@findout2655 Im planning to buy this deck just because its classic and hard to find (specially the Special Edition with the DVD included). But yes, its a shame that has no synergy in the main deck, I mean, is OK to have 1 copy of each card, but come on, not a single fusion card? why a bunch of level 4 monster for a beatdown that obviously not gonna work? why putting Jaden in the box if 70% of the deck aren't his cards? Really bad decisions. Like someone said in the top, we know, is a starter deck, but they could have made a better work.

my dream as a kid was to get a jaden starter deck but i never found it in my country..........im kinda glad i got my joey pack instead, this is an outrageous starter deck, all the cards that are usefull were banned back in 2007 and theres around 6 card that jaden actually used in his deck and non of those cards are flame wingman or frickin polymerization. Awesome video tho, keep it up :D

Considering the time that this probably came out, there's actually some pretty decent cards in there. Brain Control, Heavy Storm, Giant Trunade, Exiled Force, Compulse, and Lightning Vortex were all very good generic staple cards back then.

The reason Giant Trunade is also banned is because it ''returns'' the cards. Not ''destroy''. That return effect is harder to stop then destroy effects, and its why imo it's much better then Heavy Storm. You can bypass Stardust Dragon for example :D
