No, I'm from the US. And where I'm at, Battle Fader is more popular because it actually stops Star Eater, which was very popular for a good week or two. Nobody runs scarecrows in the mirror match to stop OTK's. They prefer to use PWWB instead because of its higher versatility in stopping any threat including OTKs. PWWB also stops Star Eater, too, which also leads to the lesser seen play of Star Eater.

This deck STILL WORKS. It is great, I have replaced the wave motion cannons with another Megami and Herald of Ultimateness, bigger defense, can negate more, but harder to search and a cat of ill omen with a third megami, I found the cats clogging up the deck too much at 3 and you usually have time to dig for them or destiny board. Finally threw a Fairy cheer girl in the extra deck (forget what for) because draws are usually better than dealing with something that won't matter anyway. Overall, starting with 2 negates and herald in play, you can lock your opponent out of the game in most match ups. Finally, I probably need to take out Hamon, not sure exactly what for but might put in ritual weapon, putting herald at 3300 or a virtually unbreakable defense.

Because very few, if any, Dragon Ruler players play any monsters with more than 2800 Attack. There are a few they could use but most choose not to for the better effects.

As far as resources go, if you're looking for Earth fodder, Maxx C is moar than enough. Swift Scarecrow just means you're utilizing a dragon that has a very small attack too much. That can lead to problems in making a push since a lot of US DR players have Skill Drain in either the main or the side.

Lots of Dragon Ruler players opt for the weaker (ATK-wise) but stronger effect monsters. A lot of them cut out Red Dragon Archfiend and Star Eater since their effects are mediocre (to compensate for their higher ATK). The highest ATK good effect monsters in a DR extra deck is 2800, which is tied between Crimson Blader, Colossal Fighter, and Scrap Dragon. Even Jeweled Red Dragon Archfiend is considered mediocre because of its effect restriction.

Dragon Rulers can make BRD pretty easily to get around Obelisk. Herald and Assault Mode aren't that common which is why Dragon Rulers don't play high ATK monsters.

Making Star Eater requires either a Level 4 tuner + 1 Big Dragon, which is usually Debris Dragon. If you're going to be playing Debris Dragon, you're most likely going to make BRD over Star Eater. Also, people run Battle Fader over Swift Scarecrow because Battle Fader interacts with the battle phase, not the attacking monster, and therefore, stops Star Eater. Star Eater is a mediocre effect card, too.

Are you from Japan? It might be the case there, people run battle fader over scarecrow because fader+tuner+dragon makes trish, however, in the TCG area everyone runs scarecrow bc it is earth and interacts with redox. Also in the mirror you're likely go more often into Ancient Fairy Dragon, not BRD. However, when making Star Eater, you get Flamvell with Debris and then your field should be Star Eater + Scrap Dragon or another lv8 Synchro. Star Eater wins games, period.

I can't speak for others, but I always keep a Star Eater in my own Dragon Rulers extra deck. You'd be amazed at how many people pound on me for saying it's a waste of space. I think next time, I'll show them this video.
