I used to play this game immediately after my kids fall asleep, only for the Multiplayer. Awesome, chaotic, bloody, fast and satisfying multiplayer. And fast forward now, i still visit the multiplayer menu....and stare at the blank lobby.

+Trini Gamer Imho, they could have done so much more with the idea that it was terrorists on both sides were causing the problems. It would have been cool if the ISA stepped in against the VSA and the Helghast fought the Black Hand. Imagine how badass it would be. The Black Hand has you captured and as they're about to torture you, Helghast soldiers break in and save you. Simply because they don't want war with Vekta. How about a mission where ISA soldiers arrest VSA scientists and operatives for illegal experiments and operations? It could have been awesome. ISA and Helghan unite to bring down the warmongers. They don't have to be best friends. They just have to work together.

Also other fans comment on the lore said that the conflict between the vektrans and the helghast over vektra was like the conflict in Israel with the palensteians and the israelis. This game world or universe is based of our history which politics always there enough said.

+Nataly Anna Giless I know, I mean let's not bring real world politics into this. As far as the comparisons go, I'd say that the Helghast are closest to Nazi Germany. A few madmen in power led a nation of great people to ruin in pursuit of their foolhardy dreams. Honestly I'd say Vekta is closest to Poland or Czechoslovakia. They both pretty much got hung out to dry by their allies. The UCN only begrudgingly did something about the Helghast invading Vekta and then they only gave the ISA a scant few warships, not the support that was expected of them.

There is so much pain and suffering in this composition, but also that glint of hope and the urge to push forward. I've been using this track in my DND campaign for years. It wasn't until I looked at the comments here that I realized the reason for the tone is because the composer's mother passed around the time of its creation. Gives a whole new meaning to its title.

They should make a new game where you play as a Helghast soldier during the 2nd and 3rd game, discovering more about the actions of both sides and choosing to form a new faction that will exist in the world established in Shadow Fall. Even if unintentionally, Guerilla created a universe with two extremely flawed forces that actually has a lot more nuance than was depicted in the main plot. The ISA and Helghast both have understandable motivations as well as incredibly terrible misdeeds to accomplish their goals. Playing as a Hahka like character who defects from the Helghast would be awesome, but he would need to understand the flaws of both sides.

Commander Husky Just got into the series, my girlfriend gave me her old PS3 that she used as a DVD player (which someone gave her family.) Bought killzone HD from the store, played it 6 hours straight and another 4 on hard mode and finished the story today. Now I’ve nearly got the platinum, only left to complete the story with the other characters. Ordered Killzone 2&3 today, and I have shadowfall but never properly played it. Fantastic series it seems.

Radec just accomplished his mission, and that mission was just one: protect Scolar Visari. And Radec DIED accomplishing his mission. THAT is honor. Did the Helghast attack the ISA cruiserships on the Helghan atmosphere? Yes, they did. But why? There is just one answer: they were just defending themselves from the attack landed on Helghan. Millions of Helghast died -- the Helghast NEVER surrender! -- in a war triggered by the humans. And the humans were in search of what? What did they want in Helghan? If it was petrusite, the humans should glory themselves: destroyed Helghan with a petrusite radiation leak-out. The Helghast lost their homeland and their leader, but, instead of surrendering to the ISA, the Helghast keep fighting, achieving the honor they deserve more and more, in New Vekta or anywhere else. Look at Pyrrhus: a good part of it is poor, but why? Because the Helghast don't have trade routes: the humans hate them, and what are they going to do in a planet like Helghan, with its poor soil? And did you guys notice that EVERY scene in KZ 1,2 and 3 that was plot in Helghan was during the night? The developers of KIllzone want just one thing: say to the player that the Helghast are the bad guys and the humans are the good ones. But we aren't fools. We know who's the real villain in Killzone -- the Human Race, who saw the success, the strenght and the superiority of the Helghast and, feeling threatened, launched an attack on them with the objetive of weakening a nation that is stronger, smarter, faster and BETTER than them. Killzone is a game, Helghast is a life. Long life to the Helghan Empire!

Was it the greatest story ever told? No, far from. In my humble opinion, The Last of Us holds that title. However it was far from a bad story and although more could have been done with it, I think it was a great campaign from start to finish. The characters and multiple view points were what stood out to me. It never showed us just the ISA's perception, it gave us insight into the minds of the enemy and made us feel the tragedy of war, the pride for the nations at war, and the panic and despair of being in war. It wasn't perfect, I grant you, but in my opinion it is still deserving of praise.

WhistlePigZILLA I'm not saying that the story is bad! I loved the setting of the Killzone series! It was the first futuristic shooter I played that showed me the dark and gritty side of war I the Killzone games should without a doubt be commended for that. My gripe is with how much opportunity was wasted in this universe! The characters were unlikeable and the only killzone game that actually had a decent story was the 2nd game! I just feel that guerilla could of done alot more with this series, other than that killzone is one of my favourite 1st person shooter series.

I don’t understand how a game, a franchise with so much depth, atmosphere, story and characters and just so much raw talent behind isn’t a global phenomenon. I’m not going to compare it to anything because you can’t. It’s in a league of its own. I’m genuinely curious what about Killzone didn’t catch. I haven’t talked about the gameplay itself which is incredible. Say what you will about how heavy and slow the first one made you feel, I thought it was cool. If I keep going on about how much I want this series to come back we’ll be here all day.

I ponder this too. I would say maybe cause the first game was really underwhelming considering its hype, but Killzone 2 is one of the biggest jumps in quality for a sequel I've ever seen so I dunno. Perhaps it was just wrong place and time. Killzone 2 released 2 years after Modern Warfare which was a a super influential title, and not always in a good way. 2010s were clogged so bad with military shooters trying to ride that Call of Duty wave, Killzone might've just gotten washed away. Console exclusive (and on the loser of that generation no less, sorry PS3, I still love you), and at a surface glance you could mistake it for just another gritty military shooter. And its stellar multiplayer never really caught on because it was on the PS3. People just didnt buy Playstation 3 if they were part of the mp shooter audience Killzone aimed for. They bought an Xbox 360 or played on PC. And PSN was pretty lousy until around 2011. I feel strongly in today's market Killzone would get a lot more steam, but Sony clearly has no interest in first person shooters anymore. I think in today's shooter market with Halo and Call of Duty wandering aimlessly like a lost drunk, or live service focused things like Apex, the simplicity and no bullshit nature of Killzone 2 and 3 multiplayer could have a lot of appeal. The way shooting feels in Killzone 2 is incredibly satisfying once you get used to it. It feels like your character is wearing a real gun with real weight to it. I love how the game encourages short controlled bursts of fire or single trigger taps to maintain accuracy much like how real soldiers are trained to use guns.

@@JillLulamoon killzone 2's gunplay was unique and also killzone was released during bad times, bad as in during the golden ages of call of duty and many people took it to be just another first person shooter there are other games that were released at bad times just like killzone for example titanfall 2 it's sad that it's these types of underrated franchises and fps games get hardwork put in to them but then gets overshadowed by big shooters that are no where near as good or don't get enough effort or care put in to them just repetitive shooters made and sole purpose to produce profit. Games and franchises like killzone had potential and could have been so much more.

When the Beta came out, even when the day before other players have beat me so bad this song made me want to come back... even when you could cut out this part and go to the menu i couldn't do it... I feel that this is how it was suppose to be.

So I glad bought the Killzone Trilogy last year. I regretted trading in Killzone 3 a few years ago but when I traded in some games to pre order a game, I saw they had the trilogy and I grabbed it as quickly as I saw it on the shelf. I hope they get remastered one day. Killzone 1-3 were all freaking amazing games and the soundtrack was amazing as well. Shadowfall was ok but not as amazing as the first 3

This is my favorite game tune of all time....this song truly gives me strength in the darkest of times......I can't count how many times I felt at my breaking point and I would listen to this, tears streaming down my face but by the end of the song I always feel this true empowerment to whipe those tears away and keep fighting....life is a truly a struggle and a battle but you can't let it defeat you....you always have to keep swinging and fighting no matter what.......AND EVER WE FIGHT ON!!!! I remember rushing to my grandmas house because my uncle owned a ps3 with this game on it. Man I can faintly remember the story and gameplay, I just remember making awesome memories with it. I really do wish it could get a new gen console remastered
