A bit of a different video this time! I decided to compile a list of 25 fusion summonings throughout the various Yu-Gi-Oh shows! Some of these are personal favorites, others are more "iconic" because they happened in shows where fusion was not the primary mechanic. I hope you all enjoy the compilation! The only summoning method kite didn't use in zexal was synchro, vs arc v in which he refuses to use anything other than xyz.

Kaito had it rougher in Zexal with the personal stake of Barians threatening his little brother for him to hunt Numbers. Any of the Arc-V XYZ rebellion is a revenge mission. Since Zexal Kaito knew Yuma who would rather not duel for revenge, I think the pair of Kaitos would duel each other as enemies. Faker? I think you're the fake Tenjo around here.

Actually, gatlinghoul was really creepy fusion summon but it worked welll. Well, Zarc’s summoning was fusion summoning but it considered Anime only bullshit called - “Integration Summoning” 😅

Yubel has been under the Light of Destruction influence since Judai sent her to space when she was young. At that time she was overprotective because it's related to her past life. Judai didnt know that until he saw the flashback where he promised he would be with Yubel in every life. So Yubel was not bad in the beginning, she was just overly protective and misunderstood.

I gotta say, Zane summoning Chimeratech Overdragon vs Mad Dog has got to be my favorite fusion summon in the entirety of any of the series. The amount of anger and passion in that scene gives me chills every time. Even though i absolutely cannot stand Mad Dogs voice in the dub I have watched that episode many times.

Honestly, even though it's not a Fusion Summon, Kaiba summoning the Blue Eyes Shining Dragon had to be the best Duel Monster summon overall.

That's why it's Zane's is my favorite fusion summon scene in anything! I mean even when playing the game in duel links or master duel, it's kinda iconic if not hilariously high in atk as long as you can fuse as many monsters as you can looool

I really enjoy the summonings in Arc V because they were really passionate about them. The whole hands together for Fusion was on point and the expressions great, the chanting of Shuns XYZ Falcons, they were all great. Pendulum seemed much less hyped compared.

The whole issue with pendulums is how they're summoning a bunch of monsters so they tended to be much more vague.

Ryo/Kaiser's Japanese voice actor got better and better as the show went on. His summoning of Cyber Dark Dragon vs Sho would always be one of the most memorable moments in GX.

I like how Yuri is the only one who doesn't grip his hands together when Fusion Summoning and instead prays for his opponent because he knows they're about to die

He did, unlike other Fusion users, he clasped them overhead at that time. A shame that they did not foreshadow him and Yuri being the same by having him do the same thing Yuri does or something close to it, either from the get-go or going into it as the show went on until he was face-to-face with Yuri.

I think what’s best about the earliest Fusion Summons, is that while they had specific materials, they were game Enders more often than the later spin offs.

Except they were all pretty mediocre, fusion summons with extremely specific materials were like never used even in early yugioh

Fusion monsters were rarely, if ever game enders back then (as much as I do love boomer yugioh), and when they saw use it was usually, if not always, facilitated by Metamorphosis (looking at you Dark Balter, Thousand Eyes, etc.). There was a reason they shifted to less restrictive materials as time went on.

Nobody used to use the extra deck (fusion deck at that time). It had not purpose at all lol

@@rober4 From my experience from Boomer YGO, if someone ran a fusion deck, 9/10, they had Cyber-Stein somewhere until it was banned, but by that point, GX released all the good Elemental Hero and Destiny Hero stuff, so it really didn't matter. Besides, back in those days, most players were using very trap heavy decks with monsters that facilitated instant destruction, like Chaos Emperor Dragon and the like. Usually trying to turbo him out with stuff like Sangan and Witch of the Black Forest so you start with 1 card in your opening hand.

Des-toy Mad Chimera summon vs Shun was legendary in terms of the atmosphere and the fact that Sora was one of the bad guys plus the Japanese OST for that duel made it intense.

My personal favorite fusions were the ones done with Super Polymerization like Jaden summoning Neos Wiseman against Darkness or Rainbow Neos against Dark Jesse. That card was created using his friends’ agony and his use of it fueled the Supreme King. Later, he got over his fear and it represented his connection to Jesse as well as obviously fusing his soul with Yubel

I would’ve put Performapal Gatling Ghoul from Arc V episode 128 on the list. The design is cool and edgey, effect is nice and was awesome seeing it shoot at Leo like mad while Yuya is in berserk mode. Great moment from that duel and Fusion Monster.

I like how it seems to be implied that Crowler/Chronos was holding back the whole time until his rematch with Jaden/Judai. Makes you wonder if there are even stronger in-universe Ancient Gear cards in his collection.

It's possible that Crowler just improved his deck over the years and just hasn't shown the full power of that improved deck to a student. It would be odd if he was holding back against Camula and Pegasus.

@@KhaoticFrosty Camula was using a forbidden, broken card and Pegasus created the game. He certainly wasn't holding back against the former, but still lost. He still needed to draw Polymerization and 3 golems to play Ultimate. There's nothing to say he wouldn't have played it if he could.

Arc-V is the best for putting Fusion back on the map and making it more hype than ever. The hand poses are the best. Just the right amount of edge, mystical nature, and storied history to become my favorite mechanic once again.

I honestly don't think I have a specific list but honestly any time Crowler would fusion summon and during Arc V was some of my favorite fusions like Celina's Leo Dancer, Yuri's Starving Venom cards, and actually all the Bracelet Girls fusions

Of all the fusion summoning animations, Arc-V is my favorite as it was awesome showing the background as somewhat similar art style to polymerization. Also to point out that it was awesome how super polymerization fusion summon animation is unique as well and makes me love the fusion summon animation

I still stand by the belief Yuzu should've gotten Synchro monsters in the Synchro arc or discarded XYZ monsters from the Fusion monsters. Would've helped the parallel between him and Yuzu learning from the other dimensions.

St. Joan in DM 107 is my favorite (for probably obvious reasons). I also love when Joey summoned Black Skull Dragon against Yami Yugi in the finals of Duelist Kingdom and when Yami Yugi and Joey summoned Dark Flare Knight in the duel with the Big Five (any of the Legendary Dragon fusions are also deserving of a mention in my book) Anytime Jaden plays Wingman, Tempest, or Wildedge is also really awesome to me

Xyz: Borreload eXcharge Dragon(Ep 97 I think), Number 99: Utopic Dragon, ZW - Leo Arms, Number C101: Silent Honor Dark, Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon, and Number 39: Utopia Beyond Link: Accesscode Talker, Firewall Dragon Darkfluid(against Bohman), Topologic Zeroboros, Borreload Dragon(any of them tbh), Marincess Great Bubble Reef, and Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix(against Bowman)

absolutely my favoeite fusion from the anime is black skull dragon, I already love summoned skull so the red eyes part really sells it. The other fusion I like is jaden's thunder giant, though the fossil fusions are great too (this is of course limited to the anime cause fusion is my favorite card type and there's too many to go over). Yuzu's use of fusion is actually a little confusing to me. So I know sora taught her fusion, but I've never been able to get behind the notion that you have learn a summoning method. People are like "woah he used contact fusion" "woah he used multiple monsters for a fusion" "woah yuya did a pendulum synchro!" (pendulum summon into synchros, like, oh, you mean the main reason pendulum summoning was good, putting lots of monsters out for ed summons?) Like, what about monster summoning is necessary to be taught? But whatever, yuzu had to learn fusion summoning, and later she brings out the melodious fusion in the early tournament arc. But melodious wasn't always a fusion based strategy right? Yuzu 'couldn't' fusion summon, so her deck is just main deck monsters. But when sora teaches her the method, she has a fusion monster. Now, because I believe there has to be a rational reason for why people can't just summon monsters in the anime, it makes sense to them in universe even if it doesn't make sense to me, that means yuzu got that fusion monster after learning the method. Which of course means that the fusion card must have been made. How'd she get it? did she just custom card her way into archetype support? Get reiji on the phone to make a card? Or did she choose a fusion deck and only after sora's help was she able to use the fusion? cause it seems to imply that the fusion card is new, as a result of learning fusion. fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion fusion

I dont know why but blue eyes ultimate dragon was my favorite. Just having the one blue eyes starting to shatter and then after the explosion a beam of light rains down and you get a small glimpse of three heads but then the wing flap is part of that light and then the rest of the monster is revealed. Its so damm cool that it has the reverence of a god when its summoned.
