@@zeospark9715 I feel a big part of it was that Season 2 of GX was still filled with filler-y duel of the week, so there's always a big period where Sartorius did nothing but sitting while Judai never gave a shit about his schemes (though to be fair all he did was making a silly cult who paint the blue dorm white lol) that he just came off as not intimidating. While he's an enjoyable character, viewers tend to praise villains that can be taken seriously more.

I mean, the society of light arc was really average and should have been more serious, but Saiou was never taken lightly by anybody, in fact he was still more active than characters like Dartz who only exist for their final duel with the protagonist. @@lilsunny7399 To be fair, Blue Angel was able to damage, it is just that he healed back (she even got in range getting his LP to 0). Just saying, because when you say like that it is like saying Zane barely did any damage to Jesse/Yubel, when he/she actually healed most of the LP. I will also say that I think of the Spectre vs Lightning duel, Specter left that duel with a more impresive image. Back in Season1 he needed to cheat to prevent Playmaker to win, for a while, after he summoned Excode Talker; and in Season 2 Light said he was the weakest of the five in those final duels (at this point, at worst, I would say he, Aoi and Takeru were at same level while Yusaku and Ryouken were the only above, only cause we didn't have Soulburner/Blue Maiden vs him) and usually the newer big bad almost always defeats one of the older villains with ease. However, he actually outplayed Lightning after the latter made the Extra Link, by stealing the Judgment Arrows, and actually was the commanding force during that duel, even making his own Perfect Extra Link (a first in yugioh history, if not mistaken). He just lost because of Revolver vs Lightning needed to happen. Even then, he actually figured out Lightning having a complex (later explained by Revolver) and really got on the Ignis nerve.

another piece of trivia regarding Firewall in that Yusaku vs Yozaka duel, it's the only time in the series where Firewall's effect to summon a mosnter when a monster it point's to leaves the field actually gets used.

Special mention I think should go to Reiji vs Jean Michel Roget. That duel would have also been 2 turns were it not for Jean’s auto-interruption cheat to refresh at 2000 LP, 5 card hand, and no field whenever his LP hits 0. Reiji responded by, on the same turn he OTK’d Jean on the duel’s second turn, setting up an infinite ZTK to deal 2000 damage at the start of Jean’s turn forever.

Pretty sure he just starts with Network as well. Which the counter traps would be banned immediately on release cuz your opponent doesn't get to chose the card either.

Well, changing the card Mizael activated with the effect of a card rather than straight-up using plot armor powers to change the entirety of a card in your deck is quite a different thing. Yeah, anime Numeron Network and Numeron Rewriting Magic are straight busted.

Don Thousand changing the card isn't related to any magic shenanigans, he simply used the effect of his Numeron cards and used an anime-exclusive card that changes a Spell card to a different one in his opponent's deck.

that 0-turn duel officially counts as a 2-turn duel, if we was to go for the official TCG rules (keep in mind, I haven't played the TCG for some years, so I might be wrong now) while Saiou's turn was skipped (even if his 1st turn was skipped so does it still count like he had a Turn 1), that doesn't change the fact that the Prince had 2 Turns in a row, which would follow with Saiou turn 2 (Prince Turn 1 > Prince Turn 2 > Saiou Turn 2)

The worst people in Yugioh are people who come to anime/manga videos to bring up the real life card game that came AFTER the existence of the original and official card game in the manga and the anime by extension because it is an adaptation of the manga and GX is sequel to DM so it goes by anime (fictional) play style even if they made it play more closely to real life card game since GX is an anime original work unlike the original series. It's not official. It's an alteration of the original rules.

The Mizael one is a bit weird in my opinion simply because of how many sacrificial cards there were in the ZEXAL anime. Yuma used quite a few, Chills did as well as part of his strategy with Scorch, Durbe used some in his duel alongside Merag, and I may be forgetting some as well.

Ok I’ve got a weird list idea but hear me out. Off screen duels we wish we saw. Basically duels where we either see the beginning and or ending without the meat of the duel; or ending is left ambiguous. Or just see parts of it in a flashback or something. I’m not even sure there are enough examples across the franchise for this to work. But some examples I can think of are: yugi and joey’s due that we saw the beginning of at the end of battle city. Jaden and Yugi’s duel, that one flashback duel that shows Jack beating Yusei right before he stole Yusei’s stardust dragon (particularly interesting since it’s the closest we get to an on screen loss for Yusei), Yuma dueling his dad in a quick flashback, or yuya vs his dad, maybe some of the battle royal duels that have occurred throughout the franchise that were never fully shown( like Chaz beating everyone at north academy.). Hologram man vs ronin gakuto and Luke, and Luke vs yuga that’s kinda implied in the sevens finale. Mail vs the adults right before dueling yuga the first time. I know this is a weird idea with maybe not a lot of material. But I think it’s interesting just because it’s fun to speculate about these.

It's funny that Dylan forgot that Luke vs Bakuro Round 2 happened in SEVENS's Episode 86: literally, that was a 2 Turns Duel. Basically it was: - Bakuro summoned three copies of his Boss Monster to the field. - Luke activated a Spell Card that allowed him to reduce the ATK of Bakuro's Boss Monsters. Luke summoned Dragias and won the duel.

The Mizar vs Don Thousand duel requires some background, this was thousand's first appearance duel so we needed something to gauge his power and having him face off against a opponent that wields a galaxy eyes was only the realistic way of doing it plus it set up the following duel of the seven emperors vs astral and Yuma given that Nasch would take Mizar's power following the duel. You also have to remember Don Thousand had a turn doing "nothing" when it is setting a field spell with that effect to change one of Mizar's cards next turn. Which is the very obvious thing that happens when you re-watch this duel and the next one. So in a way it does break your moves must be shown on the screen criteria but at the same time doesn't snice the move could still be played out as if it was on-screen.

How about a list where you look at every no result duel and analyse how the duel would’ve played out had it continued. I Would only count duels that had a beginning and interrupted in between before a definitive result. Duels like Joey vs Mai R2, Zane vs Makoto, Shark vs Durbe and Kite vs Mizeal at Sargasso, Yuya vs Reiji R1, Soulburner vs Blood Shepherd for example. I think it would be interesting and kinda like a What if video.

Something worth mentioning is in the gx manga Asuka gets otk’d by the manga original David Rabb and this wasn’t some boring duel happening in tandem with another more interesting duel, it was the entire focus of that chapter. David was mad because he remembered losing to Fubuki so he took it out on Fubuki’s sister and it really helped establish him as a threat since the other villain just got knocked out of the tournament

The biggest problem with counting turns is that many people aren't sure if you should count individual player turns or "myturn-yourturn". That was my biggest issue when I played in tournaments and I played "Final Countdown".

You're wrong, there is another one turn duel, and its from the original Yu-Gi-Oh. Granted, I can forgive you for forgetting about it, because literally neither of the duelists in it are even real. At the start of Season 3, The Big Five and Noah hijack the Battle City Blimp and force them into their virtual fortress, basically so they can beat them in a duel and steal their bodies. To demonstrate the new Deck Master Rules they implemented, they give the group a virtual demonstration between a simulated Kaiba and a Total Defense Shogun, with TDS serving as his own Deck Master and BEWD serving as computer Kaiba's. Virtual Kaiba goes first and instantly summons Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, fusing his deck master with the two others. Due to his deck master's ability, his fusion monsters are allowed to attack the turn they're summoned, including on the first turn of the duel. He attacks for game, but Total Defense Shogun activates his own ability, paying 1000 life points to destroy Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Since his Deck Master was destroyed, virtual Kaiba loses the duel, making this the first instance of a Zero Turn Kill. Yes, I'm a Giant Yu-Gi-Oh Nerd.

This is why I hate how the term "turn" Actually plays out. If we go with the logic that a turn is a full rotation then that was a FTK. It's also why personally and no one else can tell me otherwise, I go second and I OTK you I call it a FTK because I killed you MY first Turn.

For me lersonally, Saiou vs Ojin should be 1.5 turns. Doesn't change its placing on the list but because of how Mischief of the Time Goddess works, Ojin only got half of his second turn so I woukd count it as the 0.5 of a turn. It'd be different if Mischief skipped the turn to Your next Draw Phase and let you draw a card but since it's to the "half" wayf point of the turn I count it as such. Also can we talk about some of the most Stupid Anime deck out there. Like I assume Lawton's deck is 3 Gatlin Ogre and 3 Blaster Ogre and 34 S/T. Also he appearently has Pot of Averice in his deck which At 6 "Known" monster count is obsurd and yet THIS GUY STILL always had Gattlin Ogre in his Hand. Like COME ON

Those 2 "generic" Rare Hunters are Lumis and Umbra in their unmasked versions. After losing, they stood up and ID'd Seto as their target for taking Obelisk the Tormentor.

The only way for a duel to be a Zero Turn Kill is a opening hand Exodia. As long as a card needs to be played on the field, it is NOT a Zero Turn Kill.

Off the top of my head: Revolver vs Soulburner R1 was technically 3. Reiji vs Roger was technically 3 but could have been eternal if Roger hadn't forfeited. Carly vs Divine R1 was 3. Zigfried vs Rex & Weevil was 3. Mizael vs Don Thousand was technically 2. Brave Max vs Knight of Hanoi was 2. Ai vs Queen was 2. Lotten vs Radley was 1. Saiou vs Ojin was 1 (or 3 if you count Mischief of the Time Goddess as skipping to a new turn entirely rather than 'still his turn'). Tsukikage vs Aura was 1. Kachidoki vs Yaiba was 1. I'm definitely forgetting some because this just a quick off the dome but I can't see any duels being longer than 3 turns, and obviously you can't have a duel be 0 turns (unless you outright kill your opponent after declaring a duel but before the first turn 😂).

@@nicolasrey8773 After checking the episode again I think both were 2 turns because the each loser had 0 cards in hand when they got OTK'd. The reason I thought they were FTKs was because it was said the duels 'ended on the first turn' but presumably the commentary referred to the winner's first turn, even though as we see later Tsukikage does have the means to FTK, even if he never pulls it off.

Secondly, you're saying it WOULD have been an OTK if it was on a different turn which completely proves that it's not an OTK lol.
