Bujin was my first main archetype in Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links. I haven’t played with them in a long while, but they will always have a special place in my heart. I never would’ve considered they had any reference/resemblance to GX characters considering it is an Xyz deck rather than Fusion deck.

Playmaker as in "maybe the ones in charge of the game decided to profit from his popularity and make merchandise and cards based on his image" Declan maybe as a case of half mock half showing he has a funny side. Given the "yuya" cards featured him as a toy

The right side of the head where it looks like hair the triangle part that goes down to his nose is what resembles Judai and the left 3 spikes are his hair does goes up. Last one is definitely worthy of Number 1!

Bujin Yamato looks really similar to Jaden you just gotta look. The top of his head is Jaden's iconic hairstyle. The darker red armor like resembles the slifer jacket, and the little belt looks like deck boxes in tradition to where duelist keep their decks traditionally in the anine

I've always wondered why are Bujin's a GX reference? Like they're not a fusion archetype they're xyz based you'd think if they made an archetype so heavily linked to a specific season they'd be of that series mechanic

What actually tells us that Bujin Hiruko is Saio is its flavor text that describes, step by step, all the events of Season 2.

if you think about it, in the Bujin lore, the Alexis-like figure was corrupted and mind controlled by Sartorious-like figure (who had some yubel like elements), needing to be rescued/defeated by the jaden like figure, helped by the bastion-like and chazz-like figure

​@@toumabyakuyaBastion over the course of GX slowly degrades from an intelligent rival duelist to useless comic relief and the anime even acknowledges it in the season. Bastion is ignored by the Society and gets his pride hurt, so he challenges Chazz. At some point during the duel he gets his wires crossed and decides he wants to join the Society to prove he matters, which leads to him throwing the duel to join them. But then after that he acts like a needy child desperate for attention but constantly being rebuked, acting like a goofball despite being supposedly a dangerous society member and one of their top duelists. It's weird.

There’s also another great card design based off Jesse, and that’s the Crystal Bond card where Jesse is petting Ruby Carbuncle. Always loved that adorable design. Frankly, if it was in the anime, I can almost guarantee Chumley would’ve been the one to design a card like that. Cause Chumley can see Duel Spirits too, like Jesse and Jaden.

Cool video! Think Hirume (Alexis') is a reference to her being in the Society of Light with their White Design, and in one of the Bujin Trap Artwork, Hiruko (Sartorius) corrupts her, a reference to him brainwashing her and joining the the Society of Light!
