No he wasn't (at least not that we know of). It was his choice to not attend. He's done this before with his last album with Drug Restaurant. Promoting on music shows is really tiring, and it's not likely for him to win either. Plus the shows also need to invite him and they don't always do that

Just gotten to know him 3 days ago. His crime was horrid and despicable. Those victims may never be recovered from his poor deeds. Regardless, his voice is so amazing.
