Just got my MP10 tki2, diff build is a huge influence, thanks yuichi!

Followed the video exactly. These are some of the stiffest, grindiest diffs I've ever assembled. And I started racing in 1987 with a Kyosho Ultima. It had a smooth dif by comparison. Really hoping they break in...
what surprises me is that he puts the diff o-ring dry and doesn't soak it with grease

Little speed secret. Use aluminum diff cross pins if your car manufacture offers them. Its a nice chunk of rotational weight loss. Great video. Nicely done.

He actually installed the aluminum pins...AND titanium screws.

I wasn't saying he needed too as Kyosho offers them he would use them. I was simply stating that for anyone that didnt know or think about it.
@charlesbonkley2 жыл бұрын
@@daveshank1921 We hear ya. I, personally, can't justify spending $40 on diff pins, though. For comparison, AE aluminum pins are about 1/2 the cost.

I use Protek blue oring grease on all orings. It’s amazing stuff. What’s the point of sanding the gears? I never did that before.

What is the “sealer” being used?
@fxFRA274 жыл бұрын
BaboonMF Is it silicone grease paste? (not oil)
@charlesbonkley2 жыл бұрын
@TJ Mass Probably just silicone grease. Want some? Go to a pool supply store and buy a tube. In that industry, it's used for lubricating o-rings/gaskets.
@fredrikg934 Жыл бұрын
@@charlesbonkley Precisely so, an o-ring needs lubrication for proper functioning.

What sealer is that I need some
@charlesbonkley2 жыл бұрын
No you don't. Regular lithium, or silicone, grease works just fine. You're probably over-filling if you're leaking.

You don’t just say that to the guy who built it. It’s like telling Jeff bezos he did Amazon wrong. Show some respect.
