I'm getting nostalgic for a game I literally played this week.
@davemarx78565 жыл бұрын
It's because... even while playing, a lot of this music doesn't get heard. Like the Castle and Ganon Themes or the individual Champion's Themes. It's not like hearing Ocarina of Time's songs which (while great) played on and on during gameplay. Because of that those songs are just a little bit less special. Gerudo theme applies to the whole place. It applies to the desert, the fort, the people and nabooru. But in BotW, there are specific moments tied to specific songs. Urbosas theme is tied strictly to Urbosa. It's not Gerudo Town's theme. It's not the theme of the desert. It's Urbosas theme. This gives the music in BotW a bit more intimacy. Like your favorite oldie song that reminds you of something specific every time you hear it vs that song from that movie you like.

People are afraid of silence, botw has very scarse thin music for the better the occasional piano in the background or sounds of bugs and wind is something that makes botw that much better . They needed to raise the music levels in game, or allow you to set it yourself. It's very sad, because the music is my favorite from any Zelda series yet, and I can't even rarely if ever get to hear it while playing the game... Bad design choice. I despise how severely under appreciated music from Breath of the Wild is. The music is supposed to reflect and represent every aspect of the game; perhaps louder and more vibrant in a thriving town or city in comparison to a quiet, reserved, almost brooding tune in an empty, dead field filled with the remains of what was possibly once a thriving outpost, building, or location. The game is post-apocalyptic for goodness sakes! People must appreciate how much effort was stuffed in the composition of the very masterpiece that is the music of Breath of the Wild.

As a player who are so used to Skyrim. At first when I started playing Breath of the Wild. I am like, what the hell, this game feels so empty, no background music, it's just ambient sounds and few chords of piano. Little did I know, when it comes to every single town, scenes, casual, mini-boss, boss battle theme. They have their very own unique soundtrack composed to fit the theme. Perhaps, this is what they called, Less is more? In the end, Skyrim and Botw are similar yet different in their own way. I just love musics from both games. Single player game is the best.

That's what I exactly thought when I started playing zelda for the first time (i don't have Nintendo during my childhood) as a guy who loves Skyrim, I'm comparing it. I said to myself that the music is kinda boring (the bgm volume is kinda faint, I only play in the console not using a tv/monitor), few side quests, empty feeling on the environment. "This game can't beat my Skyrim experience", I said to myself. As the game progress, I then realized how wrong I was. I started to notice how dynamic the game mechanics (weapon durability, cooking, puzzles, etc) and environment (i.e can't climb if it's raining, getting electrocuted in thunderstorms, etc..), then the time I started playing with headphones, then I realized how beautiful the BGM tracks and started looking for it in youtube.

Support traditional orchestras whenever they play something you like. Traditional orchestras are somewhat dying out and there are less and less professional ones.
