I am 81 going on 82. When watching Yuja I close my eyes and find myself sleeping in huge forest, oine located in the miffle of a garden land. I smell he freshness of the moss, hear tiny chicadees chirping in the breeze. I'm in heaven. Talent and technique in spades - at this level of musicianship, it is best not to compare her to others - just appreciating the gift that Ms.Wang has and recognizing the dedicated YEARS of hard work that brought her to us is way more emotionally rewarding. Valentina Lisitsa also belongs in the piano playing firmament but comparing her to Yuja Wang or others would simply rob us of the pleasure of listening to each consummate artist with open hearts and minds.
