Still, if I could get literally mutilated and heal all quick like fictional characters do, I'd be working out constantly and jumping off cliffs.

Much of it past the first major tournament is pointless bloodsport with next to no consequences and fast regeneration with no plot to speak of that isn’t thinner than a starving african child. Either way it has its potential I suppose.

Jadiss Gaming I seen some manga fights and was even more bored as the pages wasted lots of time monologuing atleast from some that I’ve seen. As for the time skip a slight degree of it would be far better than what amounts to a week or honestly a day from the looks of it or have an awesome doctor character or something not a some throwaway line “The body is amazing” or something like that.

The Ali Jr ark is there to show that he doesn't risk his life compared to the other fighters and doesn't fight with injuries. Throughout the arc he learned that and trained like in that in this scene. He was less cocky and grew as a fighter only to somehow throw everything he learned out of the window in the final fight with Baki and thus to lose! If you ask me that's lazy story writing. The Mangaka likes characters if 1. They're Japanese 2. use asian martial arts

Both of those reasons are true. However, with Ali Jr. He actually got back seated because the fans of the manga at the time absolutely hated him. So it is bad story writing but there’s a background reason as to why
