I didn't realise how versatile miso soup is! I've only ever just used the little sachets we get here in the grocery store that have light miso and wakame seaweed in them. As I live alone, they work well for just me, but seeing all of the different ways to make miso soup is very enlightening! Thank you Yuka!

I'm in Australia and I can get dashi here at most of the Asian grocery stores. They are little sachets of dashi powder. Thank you for the link and the detailed recipes!

My summer favorite is mixing miso into cold soy milk. It's just perfect for a hot day! Of course, you can use hot soy milk for a warm soup base since it's winter there!

These look so tasty!!! Do you not find low protein breakfasts make you hungry quicker? I'd add fish or something to the rice ball like in the second one (LOVE that you reused the rehydrated bonito flakes, so smart!) Will defs be trying some of these 😁

Where did you buy the wooden bowls you use for miso soup? I am from Spain and i can't find japanese style wooden bowls anywhere and I hear they are great for soup because they don't get extremely hot on the outside.

I don't understand the difference between dashi powder and bonito dashi powder. I know dashi is the base for the miso soup but if bonito is an ingredient to make dashi, why call it bonito dashi powder? Is there also fish in the dashi powder? I bought dashi soup stock (it's a bottle and it's liquid). Can I use that to substitute dashi powder and bonito dashi powder?

How long does it take you to make these dishes in the morning? Looks like it's really time consuming
@gee10112 жыл бұрын
I make a big batch if dashi, freeze it/ put it in the fridge, then reheat it and add wakame and miso paste when I feel like eating soup. Onigiri can be quick too if you have a rice cooker that you put on when you gey up in the morning, but otherwise does take a bit of time. I wish you well in your breakfast quest!
@lutziputzi2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know about her but I cut up vegetables for soup and leave them in a container beforehand and also make a few cups of rice to out in the fridge. Then you just have to reheat everything.

@h.happy02 жыл бұрын
You can find onigiri moulds online or at some Asian stores
@lutziputzi2 жыл бұрын
You can try to just mold it with your hands but be sure to wet your hands and sprinkle some salt so the rice doesn’t stick.
