I was bullied in my teenage years and sometimes bullied others in turn. When I finally escaped that environment, I had to do a lot of soul searching to not take the environment with me. It's not about forgiveness, I think. There are people I will never forgive for making school hell, nor do I expect people to forgive me. But it is about learning and being better.
@masonhill51577 ай бұрын
i agree with learning and being better but i will say this in full respect. Forgive, I say that only because to never forgive only hurts you in the end. You hold onto pain that only effects you and it does nothing to those who inflicted it on you. Better to forgive and be free from those demons and it will help you to learn and grow. That said though forgiving is a very hard thing

That was amazing, normally not a romance enjoyer but amazing. One tiny constructive nitpick, at the end when Chris messages Grace there should of been a bit of a message history, it's not their first time texting and that was the first time she heard from him since the date so not like she had a chance to give him her discord.
@mixofreak7 ай бұрын
Its possible that they used a different social media platform primarily and only friended on Discord, and Chris specifically messaged on Discord because they saw Grace was online at the time. I've had friends on Facebook and in-game in different systems who I never messaged on Discord after friending because we were already talking somewhere else, until they weren't responding on that other platform for a few days, and I messaged them on Discord to see if they were okay or not. in most cases, they were just busy and hadn't logged onto Facebook or in-game in that time. In another, they had been hospitalized, and had just been given their phone from a family member who got it for them. I do get that it could have been slightly tweaked to have a bit less confusion there... but it is entirely valid as it is, since it isn't counter to some people's real life experiences.

This was amazing!! I can kinda relate because something similar happened to me. I didn't date my bully, but I found him on social media under a different name, one he never went by. I asked him if he knew someone who went by "deadname" in middle and high school and he said he did and he regrets bullying them, calling them the names he did and doing horrible things to them. He bullied me for a number of things, but at one point he got a hold of my diary and read it aloud to the whole student body. It had some really dark and humiliating person stuff I had written down, but he also found where I said I wanted to be a girl, and for the rest of the time until I graduated, I never lived it down, and this was the deep south in the mid 2000s so you know this went over well. Well turns out I always was a girl, and I've been out now for 5 years (on hormones for almost 4) and when he said he regretted bullying *deadname* I told him "that was me" and he immediately apologized and I told him I forgive him. It turned out that he was extremely frustrated and jealous because he couldn't be what I knew I wanted to be: He was a closeted trans man and he coped with his heavy feelings of depression and helplessness by taking them out on me. He's now one of my best friends, and to this day I feel like despite how much pain he caused me, if he had never put me in a situation where I really had to confront my feelings about my gender by it going public, my egg would never have truly cracked. In a way, we both kinda inspired each other to be our true and authentic selves in the most unconventional way possible.

This was really something. Thank you for this. I think that we can really use more stories about redemption- escpecially in our own community. It's sad to say, but Ive seen it happen far to many times that somebody in the local trans circles makes a mistake, or ends up hurting a friend unintentionally, and gets totally cut off from whatever support they've found and built over years. Of course, making sure that the person who was actually hurt is okay and can get access to support is a priority, its also important that everyone understands that a person isn't defined by the worst thing they've ever done, and that there is a way forward towards redemption. Without that, Ive seen people who have otherwise always been good, kind, and compassionate end up with serious trauma and self-love issues after a mistake they made. It's not hard to see how it can end in self-harm or worse. We are already a very fragile community. As it is, we often treat people who have done something wrong as though they were dead to us. I think that has to stop. Nobody is a saint, and nobody thinks they will be the one to make that sort of mistake until they do. I often feel that if we go on like this, there will be nobody left. We should take care of our own, even if they're imperfect. Even if they did something terrible, and are trying to atone for it.

This was a beautiful video. I’m a 34 year old trans woman and this reminded me of a similarish situation. I knew someone who I was really good friends with. After several years we tried our hand at being a couple. Unfortunately, they had a lot of demons from their time in the military. They took their frustrations out on me. After we broke up I didn’t interact with them for two years. I was confused, hurt, and sad. I had a lot of other stuff going on but that situation hurt in particular. Then one day they reach back out to me. We met up for lunch and I told them how their actions made me feel and they apologized. They came a long way. I’m proud of them because they had to put their past behind them and reforge themselves into a healthier and happier version of themself. They got a degree, stopped a lot of self destructive behaviours, and they found themselves in a truly healthy relationship because they came out as gay. As for me I had to learn about setting my boundaries and understanding my emotions and what they are and how they work. Trauma is a real pain in the you know what sometimes. All that to say is that people do have the ability to change. Sometimes we take a bit longer than others. Sometimes people stay with us for a while then leave for a while because they got stuff to work on. Sometimes we got to cut people out. I find in my wizened old dinosaur age that life is a continuous learning experience about how we are. Anyway I rambled long enough for now. I hope you are staying safe. Never forget how amazing you are. Cheers 🏳️⚧️❤️🏳️⚧️
