I do LOVE this soap, it turned out so beautiful with the mica lines and everything! But I can't help looking at it and seeing a cheeseburger! The brown looks like the beef patty with a tomato, lettuce and cheese on top with a moldy top bun! This in no way means I wouldn't use it or love it any less though! ❤❤❤🎄🎄🎄

Question for you. Micas have a recommended usage rate because they are listed by the government as a hazardous material. What, if any, is the danger when amounts exceed that rate in soap? I see many soapers using micas not only for colorant but also in drizzles and mica lines and I can't help but wonder if there is a down side to that over time? Otherwise, why limit the usage? Just curious!
@nakitatillis27156 жыл бұрын
I'm not the uploader, obviously, lol but I use a perfume that has mica in it. I just went through 3 of them and have 1 more left. I haven't had any problems whatsoever with any side affects with my health or skin. I applied the perfumes on my inner wrist, bend of my arm and neck and collarbone. Been using it for almost 2 years. Hope this helps.

Sorry if this is like common knowledge among all the viewers by now, but what's so different about pouring the oils into the lye vs the other way? How does that change the reaction?
@katiepeterson23066 жыл бұрын
Apparently it creates a volcanic action. Soap volcano!
@NoThankUBeQuiet6 жыл бұрын
Also oil is denser so more likely to cause splashing. Splashing chemical around is bad. (The volcano thing is debatable apparently but why risk it)

So im new here, and you use the micah powder between your layers a lot. My question is, does that tend to break up the layers as you use it? like you'll have a row break off separately? or does that not matter? (Also, really awesome designs that I have seen so far.

Just about everything you make is amazing!! I wish youtube had a smell option! Also, I have a question. Do you need a permit to sell handmade items, like soap, at places like a Farmer's Market (I live in WA), or online (like Esty). If so, how do you get one? Thank you!
