Watch me get the YUME hawk up to almost 45 miles an hour while riding through various terrain around my home in SW Denver. I start off with a little off-roading in the beginning,, through a golf course at dusk, down a concrete path at upwards of 45MPH, along a busy street, around a lake, up a big 42º dirt hill climb in the dark with my headlamp on to add to the YUME Hawk lights, and then I finish up navigating my way back home over a footbridge, through a mall parking lot, and finishing up going over a series of speedbumps and through s busy stoplight until I get home. It's a fun little cathartic ride.

3/4/2024 YUME Hawk price is $1340 (including YUMEBE50 $50 discount - be sure to use YUMEBE50 at checkout) + tax (shipping incl.).

Yume is something, They sell these scoots for under 2000 while their the same basic parts that inmotion and dualtron use. I guess in todays world premium is only what your willing to pay for something. I got one of the new yume raptors and hell yeah i would trade it for a kaabo gtr, then i would sell the gtr and get 2 raptors so i could ride with my daughter. :-) And yeah, that Hawk is a hell of a great scoot at any price.

I really like this scooter I’m looking between this and the raptor what kinda mileage did you get is it 60 miles true?
@AmpedTreads

I’ve never ridden the raptor. I can tell you that my expectations with the hawk have exceeded what it said, so I feel confident the Raptor would do what it said. Further, I have never been more than like 33 to 35 miles on my scooter. I don’t want to run the battery out as that is really bad for lithium ion. Let me know what your findings are.

It's important for people to understand that when the manufacturer rates the range of their E-Scooter they do so under ideal conditions! They will set the stage for their range determination under the optimum temperature to operate the battery, the best surface, the most consistently level, and the on a day when there is almost no wind to fight. In addition, they will select a rider that falls in the optimal weight of an adult male, which is usually a 160-165lbs. Then they will only operate the E-Scooter under the mildest mode and speed as to limit as much as possible the load placed against the battery. All these conditions being optimal will in-fact render the maximum range for the E-Scooter. This is fair because it truly gives the maximum range given all conditions are the best for the maximum range. We as the consumer are then to well understand that the max range is set upon the manufacturers ideal conditions and that what we will get as the consumer who will all be different weights, and operate the E-Scooter under less than ideal conditions on a regular basis and therefore will get real-world conditions for use based on their own personally determined factors. Any deception by a manufacturer could only be if someone were to perfectly recreate the ideal conditions as set by the manufacturer and then get very different results! Certainly, in 99.9% of cases the individual consumers results are going to represent their own personal real-world range, which they will not know until they ride and test the E-Scooter themselves. Therefore, the manufacturers quoted range is merely a range estimation based on ideal conditions, as such that almost every manufacturer uses this same "ideal conditions" method so one can use this as an general estimate of the potential range of any particular E-Scooter serves as a consistent comparison when also considering the Battery operating voltage, the AmpHours and the Median to Peak watt draw by the ratings of the motor/s. I am not sure how today's consumers fail to understand the method that manufacturers have always used in situations like the range of an E-Scooter. When automotive manufacturers determine miles per gallon they do the exact same thing. When we buy the car and drive it, it is never as much as the manufacturers published MPG. That's because their estimates are based on ideal and ours is based on real-world.

This or the Kukirin G3 Pro? after this test ride could you tell me how much range you got? how was the suspension, are they stiff like they claimed? I saw an American rode this thing & only got 25miles from 95% with only 20ish% left, poor imo especially considering the claimed range.

My longest ride I went for 32 to 34 miles. I had between 20 and 40% battery left, but I can’t tell you what the exact percentage left over would’ve been. I think it would easily hit the 40+ mile range. They also said it would only do 43 and I know that I have had it up on three separate occasions to 49. Give or take a couple of percentage margin of error. I still know that with GPS I have seen at least 46. I feel you can probably be rest, assured that it will, do what they say it’ll do.

@@AmpedTreads I hope you have the same one I'm about to get though as there's still the Pro version, I'm taking the regular one. Anyways, I see you live in Colorado hilly area, ever tested its max speed on flats? & how do you plan changing the inevitable battery 500cycle lifespan? you think one can swap in some DIY 22.5A 60V battery preferably from Samsun or some other reputable brand or what?

I do an acceleration test as well as the speed test displaying top end in another video. Click on my channel and look for the YUME Hawk 1000 mile review. Yes, I do live in Colorado and it is hilly. I also beat the heck out of it. I love riding off-road, and that is why I chose this versus the pro, because I could not find off-road tires to fit the little pro wheels. I can also assure you I am really glad that I got this instead of the pro because now I want to get there Raptor which has even bigger wheels and more power. Not that I want the top end, but I definitely want the power to be able to go up any hill that I want to. As far as changing out the battery very simple to service these things. You’re looking at 10 X screws to lift the cover and then from there you should be able to change out the battery with just a couple of plugs. I’ve had my cover off a few times in the past, and I’ve had no problems. I will probably buy the raptor later this spring or early summer. Be sure to check out the other videos too. I’ve got a day ride, where I kind of cover some of the nuances of the Colorado laws. Not really pertaining to you, but still interesting to see how our government is handling these things. Also, talk about a lot of this in that video. it’s long-winded, but I tried to give as much content that I could in that video.

Just the good ol' Hawk... not the Pro. I initially wanted to get the Pro, but I couldn't find off-road tires for it, so i wound up just going for the standard Hawk. I hope to get the Raptor next. Same specs as the Pro, but has 11x4" off-tires, better off-road clearance, sine wave controller, 30Ah battery, and a 60 mile range. Thanks for watching. Have you see the 35 minute off-road video I do on the Hawk? It's got a lot of information you may enjoy. I spend a lot more time talking, editing, etc.

greetings and blessings, a question: can the accelerator of this scooter be changed
@AmpedTreads
@AmpedTreads 5 ай бұрын
It can... and it comes with a different style. If you're not going to ride off-road terrain too aggressively you can certainly switch out for the index throttle. I tried it but due to the off-road nature of my riding it just wasn't an option. You can see the index throttle at the following link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nabTp5t4opWhZsUsi=CTw0GYF3yub9Fh8x&t=110 Go to the 1:50 mark and it is circled in the video. To switch it out is fairly simple too. You just have to remove the brake lever (1 screw) and then the screws for the throttle. Blessings to you too! :)

Hello, please I would like to buy the Yume Hawk to go to work every day, I live in a city where there are a lot of big hills. The only thing that scares me is the IP54, have you driven in the rain with yours, is it waterproof, or do you have to do the waterproofing yourself? Is it reliable enough for daily use and all-weather use? THANKS
@AmpedTreads

Travis-I have been caught in two or three massive downpours and had to ride home six or 7 miles sometimes going through puddles 2 inches deep. I was concerned about water getting into the actual motors so I did not go any deeper than that and I was going extremely slow with that rate. I have been through quite a bit of moisture and had no problems with it. I would strongly suggest that you not drive fast to water so you spray it up all over the thing, but I have had the display soaked as well as the battery compartment and everything else. if you watch some of the videos, you will see I have stripped off my fenders so mine will sling water and mud everywhere. The IP 54 rating works great and you won’t have to do any waterproofing yourself. I find it reliable? Absolutely.
