Prawns are basically shrimps that only have two pairs of claws versus 3 pairs for shrimps. In today's environments, most rivers are polluted and those prawns carry with them health-damaging chemicals. In Taiwan, farmers raise them in private ponds and they have been exported mainly to Japan. I had the pleasure of eating one about one pound in weight in a Taipei restaurant. They are not cheap but truly delicious !Yes, we have them in USA rivers but do not eat them !

Dear Sros why don't you deveined and clear the head. Middle at the tip of head, there is always a bag full of filth. We used to remove that also when we clean prawns. After that wash at least twice.😊

Fresh river prawns, it is delicious! In Khmer the word sros means fresh. It refers to all food items, fruit and vegetables, flowers etc..... Well Sros got the name for the task and she does very well.

I notice not many dairy products used in her cooking. Milk is always in a can and cheese is only used rarely. Is fresh dairy hard to find or is there lack of refrigeration? The prawns look delicious!!

Dede Neumann in our country we rarely use diary products to cook in slavery dishes..we use coconut milk more often..we don't have cheese in our country it's an imported goods. Our traditional cook has no all of that.
