I believe the first Otsutsukis were shinju just like the 4 villains in Boruto i think a long time ago something caused a juubi to evolve just like the one in Boruto and turn into humanoid beings like the ones in Boruto. then these human-like creatures found a way to make a god fruit, consumed it, and became the first otsutsuki. once they became otsutsukis they could increase their population the same way humans do. since they are inheriting the genes of animals that have reproductive organs, these shinju beings would develop reproductive organs after eating a chakra fruit. This may be the reason why otsutsukis have very long life spans because they inherit the strong life force of the Juubi. Their appearance is also similar to a juubi jinchuriki.

I believe that the shinju will try to learn about them selves and others to gain knowledge that surpasses humans even Amado and even orochimaru. However I believe that the shinju will try to learn more about the only person that at this moment is there greatest threat but also there way to become the god tree. And then there is also the fact that he has knowledge of the ten tails that no one else should have known about aside from Amado but koji would not contact him because Amado thinks he is dead. pretty sure everything related to high technology in Boruto has to do with Moon's Side branch, which we know has an anti-shinobi tradition; this is the branch that Kawaki descends from, and that Amado has a connection to through Akebi it's possible that Akebi inherited the Side branch's genetics through her mother, and that they've been used to alter Code's Karma, hence how his claw marks worked as a virus/a mutation on the Juubi; the chances of Code being an Uzumaki also work in this equation I think that Amado's final goal here is to replicate Shibai's abilities (partially through making "God Trees" believe that they have their own free will, while believing in destiny assigned by genetics at the same time), but through his own capabilities and his own will; for which reasons exactly I don't know, but they might be tied to ending the age of Shinobi, or maybe a more cynical reason, like achieving Godhood, first by using Kawaki's dojutsu abilities through a different source, like Delta, and then consuming all of these "God Trees" in the end, because remember, he has enough material at this point in time to replicate how Otsutsuki's function, and to immunize himself against them

thanks for this my man. i was hating on boruto franchise the whole time. but if your theory gets validated, i will be the biggest fan of the franchise. i also thought that youre gonna say amado created the otsutsukis indirectly trough shinjus who evolved and gained consciousness. they then travled through space to gather as much power and knowledge. the reason why they can transform into fruit and be eaten by other otsustsukis is because, like claw grimes, they can combine themselves again to transform into a new being. as they travled back and forth through time, they decided to play gods among humans. boruto defeating amado would mean that boruto would be rewriting history itself because there will no longer be the begining of the otsustsuki at all.
